FAQs

Yes, I am always on hand to support beginners.
Courses usually start with drawing exercises and build week by week.
You can stay with sketching and develop your drawing skills for as long as you want. Or you are welcome to try something new: coloured pencils; watercolour; gouache; acrylics; pastels. I am always happy to help, guide and give demonstrations.

Yes. The course is designed with all levels in mind. Courses tend to start with drawing exercises and build weekly from there. As an intermediate or advanced student you will be encouraged develop your skills and set your own goals. You can work along with the project for the course or dip in and out. I demonstrate a wide variety of mediums and I'm always happy for you to request specific things.

If you have your own art materials, you're welcome to use them. Before your first session, I’d be happy to chat through what you might need and suggest where to buy supplies if helpful. As a starting point, you might like to have: a sketchbook or pad of cartridge paper; a selection of graphite pencils; any paint medium you're interested in exploring. You don’t need to invest in a lot right away — starting with a few basic materials is absolutely fine. You can build up your supplies gradually as your confidence and skills grow.

You don’t need a large studio—just a table, some chairs, and good light are usually enough for most Drawing and Painting activities. For group sessions, a dining table, conservatory, or community hall space works well (depending on the size of the group). I’m happy to advise on layout and setup when you book.

My online classes are suitable for most children. I do ask that an adult monitors their child while they are online. Sessions are 1.5 hours long, so are suitable for children who are able to concentrate for long periods. I am happy to discuss your individual needs and support you and your child to access my classes. Please feel free to get in touch.

A few days before the start date you will be sent a Zoom link and links to any resources.
