Our 2 day courses are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with more experience who would like to learn new techniques or simple brush up on existing skills. The 2 day courses have a maximum capacity of 8 students and are taught by award winning jewellery designers Jesse & Al Dickson offering a fantastic student teacher ratio.
These weekends are designed to be as flexible as possible, allowing you to (with help!) create your own designs and work on your own project at your own pace. As these courses are 2 days long you will have time to cover the basic techniques as well as experimenting with some of the more advanced techniques such as stone setting, acid etching, casting….its endless!!!

I have attended 5 courses at Flux n Flame with 2 more booked this year. I have learnt so many silversmith techniques and made some lovely pieces . Jesa & Al are great supportive teachers. All rounded off with great lunches, cake, buckets of tea and lots of laughter.
I have attended probably 4 weekends ( my treat to myself as like an annual holiday) making all sorts of lush jewellery with the help and guidance from Jesa & Al who are amazing! Lovely lunch provided good company loads of laughs and even an occasional ice cream van comes around!! Brilliant place to go and make gorgeous things!!!
I was on a course last weekend, and made a beautiful silver spinner ring - with lots of help from Jesa and Al, who are brilliant teachers and lovely caring people. I learned a lot of new techniques and conquered my fear of soldering. It was hard work, but great fun, kept going with endless cups of tea and coffee, chocolate cake to die for, a delicious lunch, and not forgetting laughter all along the way. All in a beautiful countryside setting - what more could you want?
Absolutely LOVE these courses, have been about half a dozen times and always come home with something amazing! Jesa and Al are brilliant teachers and I learn a new technique every time. We also eat too many biscuits and laugh lots!
