"I booked this course for myself and two friends some time ago. Finally the weekend arrived and we rocked up in Ely for our course. We could not have had more fun. What an EXCELLENT weekend. Not only were we all really pleased with what we made, but the quality of teaching was superb, the laughs had us doubled up and the constant supply of tea/coffee, biscuits and cake, not to forget the lovely lunches was amazing. "I completed both a two day introduction to silver jewellery making and a one day stone setting course with Jonathan. These days were full of amazing instruction and practical demonstration - I was then able, under Jonathan's careful guidance, to create a pair of rings and a sapphire-set bangle: I am incredibly proud of all three of these (my wife and I have not taken the rings off since the day I made them! Jonathan's courses acre structured so that anyone, with any or no experience is able to access them with ease. Coming to these courses as a complete novice, I am pleased to say that I have been inspired with the confidence to take the craft further myself. Jonathan himself is a font of knowledge, and it was amazing to be taught by someone who clearly has a passion for his craft. He was so giving of this knowledge and passion, and it was clear from the outset that he wants others to enter the trade (he wasn't selfish about it at all, but recognised the need for others to enter the profession). The lists of tools and instructions he provides students with are a valuable source of information regarding starting up. It took me all of an hour after having left his workshop to buy my first tools and materials. Thank you, Jonathan!"

"I discovered Jonathan’s courses via an internet search around a year ago. I’m so glad I took the plunge and went for it eventually. The two days went by so quickly - we had great fun and covered lots during our time working together. I came away with a beautiful silver ring and pendant, plus a copper pendant. Lunch was fabulous - even catering for my special dietary needs with no problems. Plus there was plenty of tea, coffee and flapjacks throughout the weekend! I’ve definitely discovered a new interest and can’t wait until the two day stone setting course I’m enrolled on later this year. "I have wanted to have a go at Silversmithing for years and so glad that i finally did it. I had a fantastic 2 days which covered a lot. We got to try out lots of different tools and were given a handout with lots of information on what to buy to get started. I made a pendant some earrings and a spinner ring over the weekend. It gave me the confidence to invest in some tools and I look forward to doing further courses with Jonathan."

"I've wanted to make Silver jewellery for a long time, so have been buying tools here and there, but I have never actually used a tool. My partner treated me to the one day silver jewellery course and for someone that doubted and despite the fire in the belly asked myself could I actually do this or am I just dreaming, well all my questions were answered on this course. Yes I can. Jonathan is an excellent tutor. You are immediately put at ease and by the end of the course you are armed with useful knowledge, taught skills with tips on how to and I won't spoil it for you, but a great tip was the sharpie pen tip, yes sharpie pen. Jonathan also follows up the course with an email with useful links and information, as well as on the day. As a tutor I doubt very much you would learn more in a day with anyone else, all your questions are addressed and the day was fun filled with lots of humour. A pay it forward man and you will understand that statement when you hear his story over a lovely lunch. I would recommend Jonathan everything."

"Loved every minute of this course. I have long wanted to learn how to make jewellery and this was the first step to realising that ambition. Jonathan made it all so achievable and with the small group size was able to give everyone plenty attention and 1:2:1 time. Jonathan’s advice on equipment and starting out is practical and the printed information he provided is helpful and relevant. "Absolutely loved this course. After doing the 2 day silver jewellery making course with Jonathan 3 weeks ago I was really excited to learn how to finish off my pieces with stones and it was even more rewarding than I'd expected. I came away with pieces of jewellery that I'd actually buy which felt like a great achievement. As before, Jonathan communicated everything so well, made sure to balance information with hands on practice, managed to split his time evenly between all 3 of us on the course and make sure we were ok with what we were doing at all times. "I attended this course as a complete novice, knowing nothing at all about jewellery making. From a blend of teaching, discussion and practical elements I learnt the basics from Jonathan. I enjoyed the whole day very much and it completely demystified the art of jewellery making. I managed to make both a pendant and a hammered silver ring during the session. Jonathan is very good teacher and manages to make some of the complex processes easy to understand and remember. Plenty of refreshments during the day and a wonderful lunch from Julia.
