"The two day jewellery course is fantastic. Jonathan is an excellent teacher and his enthusiasm for his subject is infectious. I am (was!) a complete novice, but have come away with enough knowledge to make a start on my own jewellery projects. The pace was good with lots of hands on work as well as some theory. I came away with two lovely pieces that I will treasure as my first makes, plus comprehensive notes on techniques and choosing tools and equipment."

"Jonathan is a great teacher, clearly passionate about his work and also a great person to spend the day with! In addition to learning a lot on silver jewellery making I had a great time and we were well-looked after (including drinks, great biscuits and a lovely lunch!) When I booked the course I was expecting an introductory session, and already thought about booking additional courses if I liked it but I was very pleasantly surprised (I hadn't read the reviews!) by the fact that Jonathan made sure we could continue on our own, not just by showing us the techniques but also providing guidelines and references to buy tools and giving us advice to get started on our own with a minimum investment in money and space. I'm definitely going to get some of the basic tools and start experimenting! I've also convinced my partner to do the same course as I'm sure he'll enjoy it just as much! Thanks again! :)"

"I bought this course as a Christmas present for my partner, and after opening it he asked if I would want to go along with him. I contacted Jonathan who responded that he couldn’t fit in an extra person on the date I had booked, but that he would open up one of his free weekends to include me as well. I can’t thank him enough for being so flexible and accommodating! We really enjoyed our day with Jonathan. He is a really amazing tutor and we both came away excited to get going with our new hobby! It was relaxed and informal and he is a really entertaining and genuine person, I’m really glad I chose this course. Jonathan took us through how to set up a workshop, different tools we would need and his recommendations for where to buy them and what to spend. Really invaluable advice for beginners! Throughout the day we had an endless supply of tea and coffee - some gorgeous home made ginger nuts (which Jonathan was kind enough to send me the recipe for!), and a really lovely lunch of soup, with some cold cuts of ham and cheeses. Overall we came out with two lovely silver rings, a new hobby to take up, and had a really lovely day together. I cannot recommend this course enough, and will be looking to come back and see Jonathan again in the future!"

"Going on my own, I was a little worried before arriving for the course; but I needn’t have worried at all. Jonathan was so welcoming and provided a plentiful supply of biscuits and coffee all day! I had never tried making jewellery before, but came away with two rings and a set of earring studs! Jonathan was so informative and provided information during and after the course of how we could go on to startup our own mini workshop. I didn’t anticipate the day to be so educational and came away felling like I’d really learnt a new craft! All my friends want to go on this course now too!"

"I did the two day course this last weekend and it was fantastic. I was a bit apprehensive beforehand, having done various crafty things before but never trying jewellery making so wasn't really sure what to expect, or if I'd be able to come away having made anything I'd be able to wear. I need not have worried as the course was fantastic - Jonathan clearly knows his craft inside out and is a lovely friendly, supportive tutor. We covered everything I felt I needed as a complete beginner, from what kit would be useful to start out at home to different materials, thinking about designs and even having a nosy at some beautiful gemstones. Refreshments were provided over both days, with no issues catering for me as a picky vegan type. I've come away with a couple of lovely pieces which I've already been wearing and making everyone admire, along with enough knowledge to feel like this is something I could start to try myself at home. Fully intending on booking in for another session in the not too distant future and would highly recommend this course to anyone interested."

"This course was fantastic! I was a little nervous going on my own, but the course was just three of us and Jonathan made us feel really welcome and comfortable. The course itself was fun, and I came home with a lovely pair of earrings I crafted myself. Having never done silver jewellery before, I learned absolutely loads and had enough information to go home with so I could set up my own little workshop... Jonathan makes every effort for you to feel comfortable providing much tea, coffee, home made biscuits and a home-made lunch! It was a perfect day. I will definitely go on another of Jonathan's courses and recommend you do too!"

"I chose to take Jonathan's course in particular since he has such stellar ratings; spending the day at his studio on a one day workshop yesterday I totally endorse all the great things previous students have said. The day was superb for Jonathan's approach and hospitality and generosity with time, tools, knowledge, support and welcome at his lovely home (and wonderful lunch). Jonathan is closely involved with education and it shows; the day was a magical combination of being well-structured but informal. It provided the perfect mix of theory, information, demonstration and explanation and space to let us get on with it and allowing us to learn through practice with Jonathan always good humouredly close at hand for support. "The day we spent at Jonathan's studio was absolutely fantastic! Jonathan is so warm and welcoming and his teaching style is structured but relaxed. He encourages you to abandon any hangups you have with saws or blowtorches and to simply go for it after he demonstrates a technique, but he's also available to guide you through every step of the process. Jonathan teaches in such a way to provide guidance past the one-day course, and so introduces every tool along with some model/prices alternatives to best suit your interests, should you decide to continue your jewellery-making hobby. He was also very hospitable - tea, coffee, and all the gingerbread biscuits you could ever want :) He even took us into his home for homemade lunch!"

"My partner and I combined a two-day silver jewellery making course and a one-day stone-setting course with Jonathan and had a fantastic time. We were both fairly new to the techniques taught but with Jonathan's expert guidance and wealth of knowledge we came away inspired to continue. Between us we made four rings, two pendants and a malachite necklace, all of which we were very pleased with, as were the friends and family we gave some of them to as gifts! Jonathan was incredibly friendly, helpful and a great teacher - and cooked us lovely lunches too! I am also very grateful for the follow-up information on where to buy materials and tools, as well as step-by-step worksheets which were very thorough.
