"I bought this experience for my mother-in-law and daughter for Christmas, so Jonathan had 3 generations in his Workshop! It was a great day, even more than I hoped for. Jonathan is a real delight so informative and a real good teacher/instructor. All credit to him for allowing each of us to work on bringing to life a piece of jewellery we imagined. The coffee flowed all day and I now have the recipe for the fabulous ginger biscuits, yum. Thank you for your patience and trust in us as novices."

"Just spent 2 great days on Jonathan's silver jewellery course. After a thorough introduction to a range of skills, we were given lots of hands-on experience, encouraged and supported by Jonathan. On day 2 we each made a ring to our own design, and then in the afternoon completed our own silver project with guidance from Jonathan. The pace of the course was perfect, as was Jonathan's teaching style. Finally we were given advice on how to proceed with our individual silversmithing journey: we've all signed on for more! A huge thank you to Helen for the endless supply of delicious biscuits, tea, coffee and lunches. An excellent course!"

"What was amazing ( besides the legendary ginger biscuits ) ( and the lunches ) was how much we packed into these 2 days, not just in terms of practical work, but also the amount of knowledge Jonathan gave us. The three of us on the course not only came away with a ring we had each made ( and now wear very proudly ! ), but also something we had personally chosen and designed - a pendant, ring, and torq in our cases. This means you come away with the enormous satisfaction of making something you want, yourself, and having the knowledge ( and comprehensive notes ) on how to progress beyond that into silversmithing as a hobby or career. Jonathan not only has vast experience and skill, but also the empathy and ability to give his students the confidence to believe they could do really well in the future if they want to. As you can probably tell, I was impressed.....!"

"I spent a couple of days with Jonathan and I must say that I enjoyed the two days immenseley. His welcoming friendly greeting sets you at ease immediately and his ability to pass on his skills is seond to none. I had been having difficulties with a few things but his patience and knowledge soon had these issues sorted. If you are thinking of a silversmithing course then do not hesitate to speak to Jonathan. I guarantee you will not regret it. A bottomless coffee jug and superb ginger biscuits combined with lunch are a very welcome bonus to a brilliant day. Jonathan you are a star, thankyou. Ps you have cost me a fortune.....My work bench seems to be sprouting new tools all the time. A 5 star experience."

"Just to say a big thanks for a great day that caters for a compete novice like me through to folks with more experience. During the day we were give so much useful information ranging from buying tools, basic design for work stations, to technique use in making jewellery all backed up with practice and handouts. All along the way Jonathan give plenty of encouragement and constructive criticism and ideas how to achieve your design. Over the day I made a chunky silver ring with textured surface not perfect, but has given me the confidence to try out a few more pieces of jewellery The other treat was lunch made by Jonathan partner along with tea coffee home biscuits plus freshly made mince tarts. Again many thanks wil be booking more courses in new year"

Great teaching and loads of extra info from Jonathan who imparts his knowledge in a gentle and positive way which makes you feel capable of achieving during the day. "We have just returned from the Saturday course with Jonathan, clutching the silver jewellery we have made. We have done a lot of Craft Courses through Craftcourses.com and this course is in the very top tier. The instruction was excellent with time to practice on Copper before moving to Silver in the afternoon. There was no time pressure to rush the completion of our pieces as we were using some new skills learnt in the morning, this is very welcome and there was no clock watching. We were very impressed that Jonathan could move us from a state of being completely unskilled to a level where we could produce something that we value. The lunch was excellent and the home made ginger nut biscuits are to die for (as mentioned by others). Overall an excellent day. For the record there were three of of us on the course (my wife and I and one other) and that was perfect."

"Hi Jonathan, just to say that last Thursday’s workshop was the most enjoyable experience I have had in a long time and so much fun! Thank you so much for your patience and encouragement yesterday. My family's gift of your 1day Introduction to Silver Jewellery Making Course was the best I could have wished for. Although I had been looking forward to the day, I had little idea of what to expect, having no jewellery making background, and was concerned that I might feel completely out of my depth. I need not have worried as your relaxed approach, sense of humour, enthusiasm to share your knowledge together with your expertise and teaching style have been nothing short of inspiring and I am already planning to book again after some practice with copper! I learned so much about all the processes and it was satisfying coming away with the silver earrings, especially loving the way we made the silver beads and imagining ways I can make those the basis for a style! "I so enjoyed the 1 day introduction to silver jewellery. Jonathan instantly made me feel confident and his passion for his craft was infectious. During the day we handled different techniques with lots of teaching that was backed up with printed handouts. The work space was comfortable and Jonathan looked after us beautifully with tea, coffee and an excellent lunch. "I completed a one day 1:1 jewellery making course with Jonathan and had the most excellent time. If you have any physical limitations, Jonathan will be able to find ways to still make this course fully work for you and was so flexible and helpful. Jonathan is fun, friendly, full of knowledge and has lots of great stories. By the end of the day it felt like we had known each other for ages. I made 2 lovely rings on the day and Jonathan provided me with so much information in a pack and by email to make sure I had all information to hand to take jewellery making forward as a hobby-or much more for those with the talent! I would recommend this course highly to anyone considering learning jewellery making. You will have a wonderful time and come away with some beautiful pieces. "Brilliant. Jonathan provides a relaxed, informal atmosphere which put us all at ease. The teaching materials and discussions created a detailed course with enough info to get you started as a hobbyist or indeed to start up small scale production. The course was well structured and thorough, yet felt like spending a couple of days relaxing and having fun. The food was delicious, and thoughtful touches like homemade biscuits point to the care taken. I enjoyed it so much I'm signing up for the stone setting course...."
