Sue reviewed: Beginners needle felted seascapes

"I really enjoyed this course. Rebecca was very friendly, and gave clear advise , instruction, encouragement, and was happy to help at any time, but we were able to work at our own pace. Having done a needle felting picture kit before, I left the course with skills and knowledge to enable me to make my own felt paintings, which I'm looking forward to starting x"

Jack & Alice Crafts responded:

Julie reviewed: Weave a patterned scarf in a day - Rochdale

"The beauty of this course is the patience with which Anne guided us all through the process of yarn choice (which is immense at the Yarn Barn), the setting up of the loom, the techniques for ensuring our scarves were woven to the correct tension, and the wonderful range of patterns possible. I was delighted to walk away with a fabulous scarf, having benefitted from Anne's huge expertise and good humour. A lovely way to spend a day. Thank you to all."

Roger reviewed: Table Loom Weaving Workshop - Dobby & Rose

"I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at the weaving workshop and would recommend it to any complete beginner who thinks they might fancy a go at weaving. One thing to note is that setting up the loom is obviously a big part of weaving (no loom, no weave!) but it's also time- consuming - even for an expert. For beginners, particularly if there are several students, it would be impossible to both teach the setup and do any actual weaving. I came away with a piece of fabric that I'd woven. I'd much prefer that than to have come away having set up a loom! However, Rebecca gives a very clear account of what's involved. No criticisms of the course at all."

Adam W reviewed: Pottery wheel & glass fusing private course

"The half day combined pottery and glass fusion workshop was brilliant. My wife and I found it very interesting getting to try two completely different crafts and we really enjoyed the experience. Sarah and Chris are very friendly, personable, and great teachers. Price-wise I was slightly nervous spending that amount on the course but it was definitely worth every penny. We will cherish our wonderful glass and pottery pieces! Thanks so much :) "

David Conniford reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"What a great day spent at the Chalk Pit Forge Amberley with Alex the Blacksmith. My one to one introductory blacksmithing course exceeded expectations. An authentic traditional Forge in beautiful surroundings was the perfect setting to learn some smithying skills. We discussed what I would like to make namely a bird bath and Alex expertly and patiently guided me through the whole process from start to finish which included the use of the forge , tools and techniques required to complete my project. I was made to feel completely at home and totally at ease under the masters watchful eye. My day flew by punctuated only by a stop for a brew and the great inclusive lunch. I completed on time and the bird bath now graces our garden and there it will stay along with the memories of a truly wonderful day. Thank you."

Chalk Pit Forge responded:

"Hi David, thank you for such a nice review. It means a lot to know I'm delivering a good experience for people. I'm glad you're happy with the bird bath... And the memories 😃 Alex "

"A fantastic few hours of creative bliss! We have long wanted to make our own willow products, and this was the perfect way to spend a few hours on a Saturday morning. Vicky strikes the perfect balance between instruction and assistance, allowing us to push on with our creations whilst always being on hand to give guidance where needed. As willow novices, we really enjoyed this four-hour session which was simultaneously challenging, rewarding and relaxing in equal measure. We cannot recommend Vicky highly enough!"

Lisa Sanders reviewed: New - Create block printed cushions in Hampshire

"I really enjoyed this one day course. Welcoming and knowledgable teachers in a beautiful old barn in the Meon Valley ran the day with lots of instruction, demonstrations and support, but left plenty of space and time to develop our ideas from small scale prints on paper to mixing ink and finally creating a cushion cover that I'm happy to throw on my sofa! I can absolutely recommend this course and school."

Blooming Designs - Art in the Barn responded:

"Dear Lisa, Thank you for your lovely feedback and recommendation. We are so pleased you enjoyed the day so much and are particularly pleased that you are happy with the results that you achieved, it really was a lovely design that you produced and one to be very proud of. Sit back and relax and enjoy your new cushion ! Best wishes Alison and Liz"

Lucy reviewed: Fused Glass Coaster

"Enjoyable craft activity. Much shorter than expected - 1 hour 15. We didn’t know that we could have prepared a design and it would have taken longer if our design had been more complex. Postage for the finished product is extra. Refreshments are not provided (Alison made this clear in her emails and asked us to provide our own, craft course advert says included). "

The Craft Loft responded:

"The fused glass session is given 2 hours for customers to feel they don't have to rush there design they are doing on the glass. For some simple designs the session can be shorter but more complicated design the full 2 hours is need, sometimes more but I will always allow the customer time to finish their piece. Customers are welcome to bring their own designs with them to paint on the glass but I do provide a range of designs to copy from, and customers can always contact me to request a design or theme I think will work on the glass for them in the session. Coasters made on the day need to be fired before the customer can take them home, and those coming from a distance I offer to post their finished coasters to them, this cost is not included in the price of the workshop. Refreshments are no longer provided as the studio is not set up to provide hot and cold drinks and customers prefer to bring their own drinks on the day."

Ian Clemm reviewed: Silver Clay Jewellery with a Touch of Sparkle Workshop in The Cotswolds - Gloucestershire/Wiltshire/Oxfordshire

"I had a very enjoyable day learning all about silver clay and made some lovely pendants to take away. They must be good as I’ve got my wife and daughter fighting over them. The tutor was great, the setup and personal touch of a goodie bag was a very nice touch. I can thoroughly recommend this if you have never done this before, or even if you have. As the only male on the day I was made to feel welcome and part of the group. "
