Julia reviewed: Colour loves colour. Acrylic painting.

"A very enjoyable day with Laura, mixing, playing with colour and putting our new knowledge into practical use. I particularly liked the bias towards abstraction, and although I didn’t manage to develop this aspect as far as I’d like to during the class, Laura gave us lots of tips and information which I’ll be working on when painting at home. "

Laura Donaldson responded:

"Thanks so much for the review Julia, It was lovely to see your work on the day and I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful. I'm thinking of delivering a class specifically devoted to the development of abstract work so will let you know when these are online. I feel that a whole day for colour, and a whole day for abstract work will give more time for each as they are both huge subjects. I'd love to welcome you back to the studio in the future."

Myra Raine reviewed: Potter's wheel pottery - half day course Siramik

"Found this experience far better than I thought I might! Yoka is a lovely teacher, very clear with her instructions. You learn about the clay and some of the process at the start which I appreciated. Then onto throwing the 4 or 5 pots, each one becoming slightly easier. Reflecting on the morning afterwards, realised that it's Yoka herself who really delivers such a fun and inspiring morning. I'm not surprised her full courses are well booked in advance! I want to do it again!! "

Hari reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"A great day that absolutely flew by! Alan is a patient and calm teacher, happy to answer any questions throughout the day. I was able to come away with a lovely spoon and a new obsession for spoon carving! There were plenty of tea breaks and homemade dishes cooked to perfection by Sim who very kindly gifted some freshly homegrown vegetables at the end of the day. I would recommend this workshop to anyone!"

Heidi Worth reviewed: Silver jewellery class for beginners

"I recently completed the 8 week evening class ... wow, just wow! Melanie reviewed: Weekend BEGINNERS IN-DEPTH WORKSHOPS - Bobbin Lacemaking Workshops (Effingham, Surrey).

"I knew almost nothing about bobbin lacemaking but the little I saw on YouTube looked like fun so I signed up for Tina's weekend course. Tina has so much knowledge and experience and yet she has the patience of a saint as she helped us learn the stitches. I felt so proud when I managed to actually create some lace. Stephen was great, providing us with many cups of tea and coffee as well as giving a lesson on how to spangle bobbins. I am so glad I went on the course and the bonus is Tina has a fortnightly class so I can keep progressing with her support. Thank you so much Tina & Stephen for a great weekend and looking forward to many more happy hours of lacemaking."

Tina's Bobbin Lacemaking responded:

"Hi Melaine It was lovely to meet you last weekend, and to hear that you really enjoyed the weekend. I hope you enjoyed your day at Batnham on Friday just as much. You have a good tension too. I look forward to seeing you in three weeks, along with the snake bookmarks. Do drop me a line if you need any help before I next see you. Do not forget the picture. Take care Tina"
