Learn to paint! Or enhance your ability with a mini art break! The art course is for all abilities beginners or intermediates, in watercolour painting and includes all the materials you will need, for watercolours. You will be shown from scratch how to stretch paper, apply paint, mix colour and all watercolour techniques to get started. For improvers we will help you to expand your knowledge and introduce you to new ideas, tips and techniques. Class capacity 16 You are welcome to bring a non painter partner the costs are listed including all the perks, but without the art. There will be various step by step demonstrations, live on our live screen so everyone can see. Individual and group Tuition and guidance throughout. We have laid out the itinerary for indoors, but if the weather (depending on the time of year) is good we may go outside and paint in the lovely grounds of the hotel for some of the time. Exclusive bookings for corporate, hen, birthday groups, art groups++++ Your teacher, Vicki Griggs is a professional artist and art gallery owner, The Little Art Gallery Broadstairs. Vicki has been teaching art to adults and children for over 25 years. Vicki has have several works published and sold as prints the the nationwide store Dunelm Mill. With over 10 years of experience in running the courses at the hotel and various other venues including art holidays in Greece. There are sometimes 2 of us teaching, as I often work with fellow artist friends. We promise you will turn out paintings from the first morning’s lesson, we know you will be hooked from there on in, even if you have never painted before. We run a friendly and very relaxed class, so don’t be shy, come and join us for a wonderful packed weekend full of fun. We believe everyone can paint, you just need to be shown how. Whether you are on your own, a couple or in a group, you will have fun learning to paint and meeting new friends. The Flackley Ash Hotel is set in beautiful grounds and very close to Rye, a perfect setting for painting and a fun weekend. The food is amazing and the staff always very helpful. There is a bar and restaurant, free wifi, real fires, gardens an orchard and the fabulous heated pool, spa and gym. You will have use of all the hotel's facilities so take time to enjoy the pool, sauna, spa, jacuzzi and gym. There are plenty of beauty treatments to take advantage of to pamper yourself, but these do need to be booked in advance. If you are interested in the treatments please contact the hotel for costs and details, early booking is recommended.
What's included in the price?
All the art materials you need will be provided for this mini painting break - 1 night accommodation 2x lunches, refreshments in class, 2 course evening meal, breakfast. - 2 days of professional art tuition including all art materials (approx 10 hours) 1st day 10-4 (1 hour lunch) 2nd day 9.30-1pm. The first day will be bookable in the calendar but when selecting the two-day course it will be for two consecutive days. - Mid morning teas, fruit teas, water and coffees - Home made bread & soup/ sandwiches & chips - 2 course evening meal - Use of all gym, spa and pool facilities Alternative options or additions: £25 single supplement - Non painters are welcome to accompany painters at £185pp - Extra night can be booked through the hotel directly. Please inform the hotel on booking that you are on the art break. - Art only - 1 Day (no accommodation) bookings are available at £95 including lunch and refreshments.
