"I would highly recommend Philip. He is a lovely person, very knowledgable and explains everything in detail. He makes the day very interesting and the pen you make is beautiful. Cannot praise this course enough, thank you for a fantastic day "

World of Woodcraft responded:

" It was brilliant having you in the workshop, You did a great job making multiple items including 2x keyrings a pen, and a very ambitious dip pen wand which included incredibly tight tolerances. I am absolutely sure you will impress people with what you made today including Turners who have tears of experience. You mentioned a strong desire to continue your experience, I put together an information packet for people starting off which might help. https://www.instructables.com/Getting-Started-With-Wood-Turning-tools-Techniques/ I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future and seeing your name as an author in woodworking magazines in the future. "I had a fabulous day with the brilliant and incredibly talented Phil. He guided me through turning blocks of wood into some superb pens. I cannot recommend this course highly enough. If you have an urge to see what it's like to go all "Repair Shop" on a plank of wood, just do it."

World of Woodcraft responded:

" Thank you for your kind words. I'm really glad you had fun and I hope your wife enjoys the exceptionally elegant pen you made for her. Sharing a passion is a brilliant way to spend a Saturday and being able to see the smile on a student's face when they get into the groove and achieve something they didn't think was possible just an hour before is incredibly rewarding. Thank you for being a great student! "

"My woodturning course was just the most amazing experience. Philip Bradley was such a knowledgeable, patient and fun instructor. He made me feel relaxed and comfortable using all the different tools and machines, which, as this was my first attempt at woodturning was really important to me. I learnt so much and I made two beautiful pens, and a lovely spinning top. I enjoyed myself so much I will be going back for more sessions and would like to pursue this as a hobby in the future."

Simon reviewed: Pen making and wood turning introduction

"I’d been given this course as a present & I chose Philip at random. I went along with no preconceived ideas of what it would be like or what I would achieve, other than hoping to learn how to use equipment particularly the lathe. The whole day was an absolute joy & I can thoroughly recommend it for anyone who wants to learn a new practical skill set. Philip fully explained what we would be doing, the best way to achieve it & then guided me through the practicals. Working the wood was so absorbing and the end results extremely rewarding with 2 very attractive pens to show for it. Whilst a 1 day course can only ever outline the basics, I learnt enough to make me want to take this further. Thank you for a great day."

Lucy Platt reviewed: Pen making and wood turning introduction

"I booked the 1 day wood workshop with Phil as a Valentine's Day gift for my husband, and it was the best present I could have bought - for both of us! Phil is so passionate and enthusiastic, and this made the day really special. We loved working on the wood and transforming it into a beautifully carved pen. I've kept one of the pens and am giving the other as a gift. A woodturning workshop is a brilliant experience and there's something really satisfying about working with your hands and applying such precise movements to mould the wood. It's also the longest I've spent away from my phone in a while - this in itself is a huge bonus! Thanks so much, Phil."

World of Woodcraft responded:

" Hello Lucy, Thank you for your kind words. Working with you and your husband was brilliant! I love to share the things I am passionate about with people who get a buzz from making new things and learning through making. This defiantly happened and the results include one-of-a-kind items and memories of a top experience. By the way, you two are defiantly one of the nicest couples I think I have ever met."
