Maker's bio

The Williams and Cleal Furniture School has been delivering professional woodworking and craft courses since 2007. We run woodworking and craft courses ranging in a variety of subjects and duration, but our weekend and one week courses are perfect for those wanting an introduction to woodworking or those who may already be experienced - but are looking to expand their skillset. Set in our beautiful workshop overlooking the Quantock hills in rural Somerset - our courses are perfect for anybody wanting to learn the craft of woodwork or as a gift for somebody who has an interest in the craft.

oliver piepereit reviewed: Danish Cord Woven Stool Weekend - WITH ASH FRAME OPTION

"Being a furniture maker and restorer I wanted to widen my skill set. What a brilliant course! Myself and 3 others attended the pilot for this workshop which ended up being well thought out and executed. If the pilot can be this good then i'm sure you can book with confidence for the roll out of normal courses. I took photos and notes throughout to make sure I could replicate the process when I get round to making my own frame. Thank you Ollie."

John Stewart reviewed: Danish Cord Woven Stool Weekend - WITH ASH FRAME OPTION

"I just attended Danish Cord stool course and found it excellent. The task was well explained at each stage and there was adequate time to complete the stool. I was particularly pleased that when something went not quite right Knot in the string or breakage the repair was readily completed with some additional personal instruction and later shown and explained to others attending. I have attended a couple of other furniture making courses and found this course equal to if not slightly better than those. I was well delighted with the end product and am thinking about making some more perhaps for our children."
