Kate Nash reviewed: Beginner's tapestry weaving workshops

"Lovely venue and great that there was only 6 of us on the course which meant that Lin had time to help us all individually if and when we needed it. Would have been nice to learn how to set up the warp threads but other than this it was a great day which inspired me to carry on at home."

Jane Slattery reviewed: Woven pod tapestry workshop

"An inspiring day. Never having made a three dimensional tapestry before it was both liberating and challenging. Margaret Jones who led the course was a generous teacher sharing her knowledge and skill. The course was well backed up with charts and instructions & it was lovely having use of the full range of Weavers Bazaar yarns."

"I am not an experienced tapestry maker, in fact, very new to it! However, I enjoyed the course and learnt something new and challenging! The room was rather cold and very cramped but otherwise a good experience. Many thanks"

Beverley Heard reviewed: Woven pod tapestry workshop

"A thoroughly good day. After getting settled and started, Margaret looked after us extremely well all day, patiently answering our questions and explaining all we needed to know. She was so generous showing us her samples and providing us with charts and information so we can continue to explore pods. We had a great selection of Weaversbazaar yarns to choose from and plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits to keep us going. A great day. Thank you."

Fiona Dowle reviewed: Woven pod tapestry workshop

"We learnt how to weave a pod on a ready warped frame. We were provided with a very good set of instructions and a template to use to create our pod. There were plenty of Weavers Bazaar wools, in a great variety of colours, for us to use to weave our pods. Margaret Jones was always on hand to give advice and gave us plenty of encouragement! Towards the end of the session Margaret showed us how to create a pod from a sample she had woven and other members of the group created a pod form their woven areas. I was rather slow with my weaving but I was able to take the frame home I had used and I will finish mine soon! A very enjoyable day and I learnt a great deal about how to make a pod. It was great to see the pods that Margaret had created in different fibres. There were plenty of teas and coffees available and the cake Margaret provided was delicious!"

weaversbazaar responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on the Pod Weaving Course it is much appreciated."

Sally Horsfield reviewed: Shaped and 3D tapestry weaving masterclass

"This course gave a very comprehensive overview to the technique of using pulled warp to create 3 dimensional shape. With Barbara’s guidance I made my own pattern and completed a sample piece of “shapes”. I now have the ability and confidence to use these learnt methods as part of my creative Journey. Thank you Barbara for your teaching and your support, thank you Jane Brunning for the wonderful ambience of your workshop and thank you Lin and Weavers Bazar for providing such an excellent selection of yarns for us to use and for the very tasty lunches. I was also able to buy additional yarns and materials from the Weavers Bazar shop at Jane Brunnings studio."

"I thought Barbara was fun, interesting and spent time with everyone. I learnt more from the course than I thought I would. I thoroughly enjoyed it."

Ann Barnes reviewed: Beginner's tapestry weaving workshops

"Matty’s workshop was very informative and ideally suited for a beginner. She gave clear instructions and kept a good pace for all abilities, giving extra support when needed or helping others to progress to the next stage. The course was well structured and highly organised, written handouts supplied to reinforce teaching. Further developments were also discussed using students own visual material. I would be keen to sign up to future workshops, or would be interested in a mini programmed progressive course to develop skills, over several weeks or monthly workshops."
