The Coppice Co. started in 2020 after Suz Williams finished her two year apprenticeship as a coppice worker and traditional craft maker. Since then she has been teaching traditional woodland crafts across the country. Her speciality is willow weaving, split hazel baskets and spoon carving.
"An absolutely wonderful experience, expertly taught by Suz, who managed to make learning easy to follow, with all the help and extra guidance available when needed. My son and I were delighted to leave with pretty professional looking baskets at the end of our day, along with a lovely shared memory. Many thanks indeed."
"I attended this course with mum as I love wood working and she loves crafting so a happy medium to spend time together. Both total novices in basketry. Despite only having one working hand that day, I left with a basket a foraged apple would not be embarrassed to call home. Thanks Suz for your teaching, seemingly eternal patience, coffee, biscuits and mega tunes! Definitely recommend!"
"Carl and I both did this course and I was delighted with the basket I came away with. Suz was a very good teacher and I still remember most of it but might have to come back for a refresh!! The venue was excellent and added to the feel of the course."
"We had a great day in the woods and Suz was an excellent teacher – super impressed with the beautiful setting and how much we were able to accomplish in just a few hours."
