The Coppice Co. started in 2020 after Suz Williams finished her two year apprenticeship as a coppice worker and traditional craft maker. Since then she has been teaching traditional woodland crafts across the country. Her speciality is willow weaving, split hazel baskets and spoon carving.
"Lovely day in the woods making our round willow baskets. As a complete novice I was reassured by Suz’s calm and knowledgeable approach, giving us clear step by step instructions. I would recommend this course to everyone.
Thank you Suz for a wonderful day. "
"Me and my partner had a fantastic time on the spoon carving course! The lovely Suz was a great teacher and we were really happy with what me made. It was a lovely spot in the woods with tea and coffee made over the wood fire. Highly recommend :) "
"This was a really relaxing course to do with friends. We loved the mindfulness element. Suz was a great teacher. My only thought is we could have done with an extra 30 mins to allow for a short lunch break and to make maximum use of the tools provided to complete the spoon on site. Or maybe we were just slow workers ! The sanding is easy to do at home. "
