Dr Helen Jones has 14 years art teaching experience. Helen achieved a 1st Class honours in Fine Art and continues to be a practicing Artist from her home studio in Chester. She completed an MA in Art Education and then completed a Doctorate in the subject. She has delivered adult art workshops nationally and offers regular art classes and workshops in Chester through her small business The Art Doctor UK founded in 2021. Helen has also taught art in Tuscany, the Congo, Rome and Finland. She has a warm and encouraging nature.

"Thoroughly enjoyed the day from start to finish. The venue was great and the whole atmosphere was warm and friendly. Jack our tutor was outstanding, offering lots of support and guidance and you immediately felt at ease. The day went so quickly and I returned home totally inspired, relaxed with some lovely pieces of abstract art. "

"I was on the April 25 course with Jack. Jack is very friendly, approachable and patient. He explained about the origins of abstract art and then gave us some warm up exercises. We then experimented with composition using black acrylic before moving onto colours. We had a lot of opportunities to try different techniques and Jack gave us demonstrations on using brushes and other tools. We moved into our canvases and Jack helped with colour mixing and provided an objective view on our pieces. Would definitely recommend this workshop and would consider doing again. "
