Most enjoyable day learning how to make a silver ring. Daisy explained everything so very clearly and helped every step of the way, if we needed it. There was plenty of tea and cake and the group were wonderful too. The only thing that I would suggest is to look at some simple ideas so that you know what you might like to try to make!
We all came away with a ring that we were very proud to wear. Thank you.
I enjoyed a fun, creative day and came home with 2 beautiful and very different copper bowls. Melissa explained each process very clearly and gave all members of the course lots of individual attention.
I would highly recommend the course to people of all abilities as each participant made at least 2 unique pieces of art.
I really enjoyed this course, it was taught brilliantly by Melissa and I went on to make several small bowls which I gave as presents and also sold at the pop up shop. I would recommend this course to anyone, it was a great day
This is a great way to get into learning about some of the basic skills involved in Jewellery making. We covered quite a bit on the course. Great instructors, great environment to learn and a great group of people. Done a number of other courses since and was completely hooked.
I would highly recommend this course :) Jules and Daisy were fantastic and made it a really enjoyable experience! I have gained a good foundation of skills to be able to make a few things at home as well as going on to complete further courses. Great studio and handy location. Thanks a lot!
I really enjoyed the 4 week taster course, Jules and Daisy were amazing and so knowledgable. Feel like I learnt a lot that I can take away to start making my own bits at home. The studio was great too, fab location!
I just loved this copper bowl workshop!
Melissa was a very good teacher and the small class size meant plenty of one to one time if needed.
It was very satisfying to leave at the end of the day with two beautiful copper bowls - I haven't stopped making them since! :-)
I would definitely recommend this workshop.
I had been looking for a silver jewellery workshop for a while and was pleased to find the one at Budgie Galore. I had a brilliant day, learnt some new skills, met some nice people with similar interests and I have since signed up for a weekly course - I couldn't be happier
The silver jewellery making one day workshop was an excellent experience, a real introduction to jewellery making. Melissa and Daisy were the tutors on the day, with a group of 9, so plenty of 1-1 time when needed. I learned several different techniques, Melissa and Daisy are great teachers and very patient!
I came away at the end of the day with a very respectable, wearable piece of jewellery.
Jules was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. I attended a 1 day course on my own and instantly felt at ease, even though everyone else was there in pairs! Would definitely recommend and am now contemplating attending a weekly course. Big thanks to Jules xxx
An excellent course, safe to say I'll be continuing! Jules and Melissa are both excellent teachers, both are very knowledgeable and supportive. The facilities are great with all the tools and equipment needed to create some lovely jewellery.
I highly recommend this course!
Jules is a great teacher and always has time for the people in the class who are all at different stages and with mixed abilities. The class is a friendly and encouraging environment - I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn new skills or just to expand their own repertoire of jewellery making.
The studio is well equipped with everything you need, spacious and always warm and welcoming. Following the introductory course which is taught and covers basic silversmithing techniques to get you started you can then attend 8 week terms. There is always plenty of excellent supervision and advice from very experienced teachers. The class sizes are small, the atmosphere is relaxed with enthusiasm and support in abundance. I look forward to my Monday evenings and Jules and Melissa won't be getting rid of me any time soon!
I chanced upon Studio Budgie Galore at 'Art in the Gardens', the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield. I loved the idea of the items it was possible to make and signed up for a Taster course, which amounted to 8 hours. This finished just before Christmas and was brilliant! Not only did I make a silver ring, but also some earrings that I was able to give as presents. Since then I have continued to attend weekly sessions and continue to learn new techniques. I have been asked to make things for friends, which is a lovely thing to do, as it means they like what I'm doing. Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day spent making a silver ring. Jules was a great teacher, very patient and helpful and she has some really creative ideas if you need inspiration. I loved the course and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone, whatever their ability or level of experience.
I love my Thursday evenings spent at jewellery! It is completely absorbing and provides the perfect escape from a busy day at work. You are always supported and encourage, with real experts on hand to assist you if needed!
I have found the classes to be fun, friendly and I have learned a lot from a very patient teacher! Plus, it is great to be able to make jewellery you can wear or give as a gift.
I would recommend the course.
I really look forward to my Thursday afternoon jewellery classes and we have all become good friends. I have made some lovely items which have impressed my friends and family. I enjoy the designing as well as the making and Julie-Ann is always there to help me turn my ideas into a reality.
I started the evening courses here a year ago and I have loved it. My skills are developing in leaps and bounds. It's a really supportive, encouraging and relaxed environment where I have been able to develop my skills in a well resourced and accessible workshop. I recommend this course.
Three of us went along to the course not quite knowing what to expect and all of us were a little nervous. There was no need to be - we had a splendid time.
Jules was so patient and helpful and explained everything so well - anyone would 'get' it. The whole thing was very relaxed and the bigger group we were part of were lovely.
It was amazing how - after the explanations of the different possible techniques - everyone just dived in and had a go.
I was delighted with my new earrings and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
