Maker's bio

I spent much of my early childhood playing on my great grandmother's farm, dreaming of farming myself. My dreams came true when aged 13, my parents bought a smallholding in Carmarthenshire. As an adult, I worked in hospitality and then became a teacher, but was always anchored by the work on the smallholding. In 2021, I set up Smallholding Secrets to give others a taste of smallholding life and a chance to learn how to work with raw sheep and alpaca fleece by offering courses.

Anne Gahan reviewed: Peg loom weaving a seat pad

"Sounds cliche, but simply the best, perfect food, surroundings and tuition. Plenty of different fleeces to work with, everything explained and shown, nothing rushed, hoping for weaving courses to start, could not fault 5 star plus, thank you for the excellent tuition and materials plus the homemade lunch and cakes."

Smallholding Secrets responded:

" Thank you so much for such a lovely review. Glad you enjoyed. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with you. Hope the beautiful rug you made was appreciated at home. "
