Hello, I'm Ali. I am graduate of the internationally renowned School of Jewellery (SOJ), located in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. Since completing my studies, I have served as an Artist in Residence and Technical Specialist at SOJ, and I currently work as a Visiting Tutor, supporting students of all ages. My expertise goes beyond jewellery, extending into silversmithing, where I craft larger pieces through traditional hammer-forging techniques. I have also expanded my skill set to include woodturning and woodworking, which I often incorporate into my silver designs. My passion for creating is equally matched by my love for teaching. There’s nothing I enjoy more than inspiring others, and guiding them as they bring their unique designs to life - an experience that is as rewarding for me as it is for them. Each class is limited to just two students, ensuring personalised guidance and a tailored experience - perfect for beginners with no prior experience needed. All classes are held at my workshop studio in Knutton, Newcastle-under-Lyme where I have two fully set-up jeweller's benches and all the tools you need.

"This is the second course that I have been on with Ali. The help and guidance that you received is second to none. She talks you through every step, giving you different options, helping you decide which method/style works best for your piece. There is so much to learn in jewellery making and Ali showed me so much more than expected. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to design and produce something that is unique and individual to you. "

"Ali was a great teacher , talking us through every step of the process from the initial sizing and cutting of the metal all the way to the final polishing. As a complete beginnner her guidance was perfect and the rings came out great (its insane we cant even tell where we joined the rings together)! We did this as a couple and got to make each others rings for our anniversary so we had a physical item we can cherish forever! The tea was a welcome added bonus and she made sure we were nice and warm inside the workshop aswell. Would absolutely recommend!!!"

"I’ve just completed the triple ring course with Ali. I am absolutely amazed at how well my ring turned out! I’ve learned so much on this day course. How to accurately work out the measurements, cutting, sanding, quenching, pickling, polishing and using different types of solder, tools and techniques. I was amazed at how much goes into the art of jewellery making. I don’t think I will look at it the same way again. I can’t wait to go on the next course."
