"I bought this as a Christmas voucher for my husband and I to do together. Lovely setting, Sebastian is very welcoming and gently encourages you to be creative. Really enjoyed the wood burner to sit around at lunch and talk to other people on the course. By the end of the 2 days we were both very pleased with our efforts. It was a wonderful way to be 'in the moment' and spend time focused on the task in hand. "

"The lovely tranquil setting and delightfully relaxed atmosphere of Sebastian's workshop soon put me at ease, despite having absolutely no idea of how to begin creating my sculpture. Sebastian provides just the right balance between instruction/assistance/encouragement at whatever level is needed (lots of all three in my case!). I ended up going home with a sculpture I was very pleased with, having had a most enjoyable and rewarding weekend. I would thoroughly recommend this course,"

"My partner bought me a stone carving experience for my birthday. I've done a few of these experience/craft days now and this is easily the best. Sebastian, the instructor, is jovial and full of interesting insights and stories, he had a host of tools that he has collected from around the world. And most importantly he is accommodating and expertly skilled at his craft. The space is tucked out of the way, down a narrow country lane and has a charming, almost magical feel to it. It's a very peaceful place to learn (even though you will be making a fair bit of noise). The views from the site are phenomenal. There is a good sized studio building and spaces outside, and when we arrived sebastian already had the log fire going and the kettle on. I could not recommend his stone carving course enough. I have found a new hobby."

"I attended the stone carving course in November, we were lucky with the weather, relatively mild so we were able to work outside. I appreciated Sebastian’s gentle approach, with just the right level of involvement and plenty of encouragement , the stone talked to me and a creation appeared! The studio is in a lovely rural setting , the two days whizzed by, I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone. I am sure I will buy some tools and find a piece of stone to work on at home."

"We had a thoroughly enjoyable two days with Sebastian whose relaxed and easy going attitude definitely took the pressure out of our worries around producing something 'decent'. We surprised ourselves with the sculptures we managed to get done in the two days and the small group setting helped to get regular advice from Sebastian. The set-up is very atmospheric and I loved being in the middle of fields and sheep and just letting my creativity run free! "

"Just completed this stone carving course with Sebastian. It was great fun. I arrived somewhat anxious as I have not done anything creative for years but Sebastian got us started on a practise stone very quickly. I discovered that I could use the tools and although the initial shaping of the stone was hard work, the changing of the block into an acorn (my choice) was fascinating to see and very enjoyable."

"I thoroughly enjoyed the stonecutting experience. There were 5 of us on the course. After an introduction to himself, the site, tools and techniques, Sebastian helped us select material for our ideas. (There are many example pieces on site to take inspiration from if necessary). Sebastian was attentive to our needs and circulated to encourage us in our progress and give technical advice. I really enjoyed chipping away at the stone and came away with a carving I am pleased with."

"What a wonderful experience! It was such a lovely setting to chip away at stone for two days with no distractions but the occasional moo and baa of nearby cows and sheep. A nice small group of like minded people to chat to at break times as well. It was interesting to learn about Sebastian and his skills and his knowledge and positivety was so appreciated. My mum and I really enjoyed watching our sculptures come to life and are so pleased with the results. We are definitely going to try and come back next summer. Thank you so much. PS. "I attended the stone sculpting course over the weekend of 6th/7th August. There were 6 of us on the course with varying levels of art/craft experience but all stone sculpting beginners. We started with the basics, the tools, how to use them and had a trial piece of stone to try them out on. Everyone had an idea of what they wanted to create. After about two hours Sebastian helped us select a stone for our 'creations'. The rest of the weekend was spent producing our piece of art with as much help from Sebastian as needed - I needed quite a lot! We had great weather so there was plenty of space to work in his somewhat quirky environment. It was great fun and everyone produced a sculpture that was more than good enough to display in the garden at home. I would definitely recommend this course."

"I had a wonderful weekend stone carving. Sebastian was helpful when necessary but hands-off most of the time, which was brilliant as it meant I could run with my own ideas and make any adaptations/corrections as I went along. I have been to a number of other craft courses and found that the tutor tries to take over when something goes wrong, which I find really frustrating. Sebastian has got it just right. I think I was too ambitious with my project and didn't quite finish, but I'm sure I will be able to complete it at home. Overall, a great weekend in a lovely setting - I hope to be back again very soon."

"An amazing experience. Sebastian was a great teacher, he gave you the knowledge and tools and then left you to try carving for yourself but was always on hand for help and guidance. The group was small and we all got on very well which added to the experience. The workshop was in an idyllic location in the heart of the countryside with plenty of shade from the sun which on this occasion was excellent as it was very hot. I intend to return in the future and would recommend this to anyone who wanted to try their hand at stone carving."

"Excellent course, Sebastian is a lovely guy and the setting is superb. We had a great group and worked outdoors, there was plenty of shaded areas, which was good in this weather! We were given tuition but left to get on with it unless we asked for guidance , which left me feeling free and trusted to have a go. The end result was really good and I've come away with a piece pf work that I would have paid for! You have free rein to make whatever you please, but the guidance on how to achieve it. Highly recommend and can't wait to book again to return! ❤?"
