"Received the course as a surprise but very welcome gift. Never worked with stone before but felt reassured from the first contact with Sebastian that I’d be able to make something meaningful to me. Sebastian is an encouraging and expert presence, always available for advice, with a knack for spotting just what help is needed and when. The small group size was perfect and sociable. All equipment was provided. Hot drinks and log burner were warm and comfortable on the coldest of days. Beautiful setting, relaxed yet purposeful vibe. Didn’t know it but this was exactly what I needed. Very highly recommended. "

"An amazing experience! I would highly recommend this course to anyone. The setting for it couldn’t have been more perfect, you are surrounded by countryside and stone sculptures. We had the most relaxing two days here, thinking of nothing but the marks we were making. "My niece and I did this course as total beginners, we absolutely loved it. I hope to book again. You get absorbed in it and de-stress. Also it’s in a lovely setting. Sebastian is a great tutor who helps you lose your fear of getting things wrong. He started with a practice block of stone to get a hang of tools then you choose a block to work from and what you want to make. You also get inspired by what the other participants are doing. We thoroughly recommend this weekend for anyone no matter what level. Thanks to Sebastian. "

"Thoroughly enjoyed the two days sculpting in stone. The sandstone was softer then I was anticipating so it didn't require a lot of heavy hammering to remove material. Sebastian gave advice and support when needed but allowed complete freedom with design and creation. This was my first experience with stone carving but will definitely be doing it again. Inspirational!"

"We have just spent the weekend on the stone carving course with Sebastian and can highly recommend it! Sebastian is a very knowledgeable person and the course was set at a relaxing pace with several breaks to chat, which was made all the better with the lovely family that did the course with us. Like minded people that we hope to meet up with again! I bought the course as an anniversary present for my husband and I’m so glad I did. We were both really happy with our carvings! If you are in two minds about this course do it! You’ll love it!! "

"We booked this as a family experience to share with our teenage daughter and it did not disappoint. The sculpture garden and off grid workshop is an idyllic tucked away spot and the course itself a thoroughly engaging and yet relaxing activity. With Sebastian’s gentle encouragement and guidance we all exceeded our own expectations and by the end of the 2 days had each created a stone carving that we were proud to take home. We would definitely recommend this course - it’s impossible not to love it! "

"My partner John and I thoroughly enjoyed the sculpting course with Sebastian. Neither of us has ever carved before, and feel we learnt so much. We both have a real sense of achievement at creating our own sculptures from scratch. Sebastien is very creative, knowledgeable and encouraging. He has so much experience, but a relaxed way of letting you explore the process of creating, whilst providing guidance, hints and tips when you ask. You can choose the size, and shape you want from his stash of stone, and he provides all the hand tools you need. The weekend was relaxing, creative and fun, we enjoyed encouragement and banter with our fellow course member. Working outside in the beautiful and tranquil location, in the glorious sunshine, was wonderful.. I had been a little concerned whether I would have the strength in my cranky hands to do it, but was pleased to discover that it is about subtle technique, not strength, and you can work at your own pace. I feel refreshed and inspired, and also quite proud of what I was able to achieve. It is an experience I will cherish, and hope to repeat. We highly recommend this course. It is a rewarding but dusty process so remember to wear working clothes. 😊 "

"I absolutely loved the experience that Sebastian and this 2-day course gave me. An idyllic setting, the right level of instruction and support from Sebastian, a sense of being immersed in something creative and being able to leave the day to day stuff behind (at least for a while), fantastic weather, the companionship of other like-minded fellow-carvers all made for a highly memorable weekend. We all left with very presentable carvings having arrived as complete novices. I highly recommend this course. Would highly recommend Sebastian "

"I've just completed the weekend stone carving course with Sebastian. It was bought for me as a gift and has proved to be one of the best presents I have ever received! Although slightly apprehensive about my ability to be creative, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found it absorbing and extremely satisfying. The setting is beautiful and peaceful and we were blessed with great weather all weekend. Sebastian's guidance on developing skills and techniques was excellent and his encouragement and suggestions for my project enabled me to produce a finished piece that I am delighted with. I hope to enrol for another course soon and would thoroughly recommend this course. "

"I had a truly wonderful weekend (April) learning some stone carving techniques and creating an abstract sculpture in a lovely rural environment near Gloucester. With dry weather the four of us were able to work outside alongside Sebastian who was keeping a keen eye on us - sharpening tools, offering bits of advice and answering all sorts of questions. I'd certainly recommend a course with Sebastian and might even go again at some stage. "
