Jeremy Olsen reviewed: Beginners Upholstery Footstool Course

"I did the course after the footstool course, the sprung dining chair course. It was an 8 hour course, 1030-1830, and we needed all of that time under Sarah's careful and patient guidance. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we all enjoyed seeing our creations develop into very respectable pieces of work for beginners. Would love to do the 10-week course now! Highly recommended."

"The beginners workshop was exactly what I was looking for. Sarah explained each stage so clearly to us and made sure we understood what we had to do. She explained why we were doing the techniques she was teaching us and how they have stood the test of time through history! It was a lovely relaxed environment and I left feeling confident that I could use the techniques at home on my own. It was a great starting point to hopefully build upon for the next course."

"What a fantastic day! Really nice relaxed and warm welcome, then on to business. Step by step, patient and clear input from Sarah. Everything is explained clearly and demonsrated, with help on hand to guide you. Confidence grows as the day goes on and you come away with something to be proud of. On the day I attended, everyone was friendly and there was a nice cosy atmosphere. I was almost sad when it was over. Totally recommended thing to do.. (and there is a bakery just round the corner that does top pasties and lunch things) Dickie E"

"As a novice to upholstery I found this beginners course great fun, and I had a great feeling of achievement making my first item of furniture. Sarah is a wonderful teacher, patient and knowledgeable the time flowed by in a nice relaxed learning environment. All of the participants shared encouragement as we progressed though each stage of the programme. My Husband also joined us and he too found the course really useful as a carpenter he found making furniture very enjoyable. I highly recommend the beginner upholstery course offered by Sarah Louise Dix and hope to attend many more in the near future."

Angela McDougall reviewed: Beginners Upholstery Footstool Course

"A really enjoyable introduction to upholstery. The course was well paced to ensure all participants completed their footstool. Sarah gave clear instructions, was supportive and showed a real enthusiasm for her craft. As a complete novice, I came away confident that I could upholster another drop-in seat on my own. Thank you."

"Very relaxed day and fun to learn a new skill. Sarah helped at each stage and nice to have the workshop as part of the shop and see customer orders, inspiring as well as good talking pieces! I am now the proud owner of a new footstool and have booked for another workshop."
