"Well what can I say a fantastic day of instruction and Iinformation . We were late, my mistake, but never felt pressured or pushed to go faster. Wife loved what she made and is now working on more practise pieces in copper, me I'm working on my soldering skills. If you have been thinking about this course go for it this is better than all of the videos you can watch. All so Great coffee and cake "

"12/10 experience. Really can’t fault this experience in any way. Had such a lovely day and Jonathan was such a great, patient teacher, showing us some copper and silver work techniques. Very small groups in the session, so I never felt like I was waiting around when I needed a little assistance. I love what I have been able to make in the day (several silver stacking rings) as well as several practice items in copper, (which look just as good) and I haven’t taken them off since taking home my finished product! Can’t recommend this day course enough! Thank you Jonathan! :) "

"Fantastic day, achieved so much and took home a wonderful project in silver as well as some rather fine copperwork! Jonathan has a peaceful, well kitted-out studio and took two of us complete novices from working with copper wire and copper sheet to hone our basic skills into making a gift-worthy copper bracelet. In the morning session we learnt how to make links and jump rings to using the jeweller's piercing saw to finishing and polishing. In the afternoon we concentrated on our individual projects (Jonathan was more than happy to guide us through our very different ideas). My friend made an exquisite bangle that she would have been delighted to purchase (it looked fantastic and really picked up the light and was so comfortable). I made a pendant, sawing out an intricate shape then using the embossing stamps before finishing the piece with lots of careful filing and polishing - completed the project with just the right chain. We both had a day of immense achievement and joy. I will be booking some time with Jonathan, both with a further session for us two adults as well as shorter sessions for my 8 and 10 yr old children."

"Two friends and I booked the Salt Way Silver jewellery making course on 17th August with Jonathan Kettle. The course was very enjoyable and although the studio was cosy, we had all the equipment and space we needed and use of the facilities in the adjoining house. There were 4 people participating, which is the maximum number, so lots of individual attention was possible. We started the morning making copper key chains and necklaces, using a variety of techniques including bending, cutting, stamping and soldering. The afternoon was spent making our chosen silver piece. We were all very pleased with the pieces we made and agreed that the day was well spent. Jonathan was an excellent host, supplying tuition, drinks and lovely home-made cake. We all agreed we would recommend the course."

"My friend Jo and I had a wonderful day learning with Jonathan. The class was really well structured with lots of helpful techniques taught using copper wire and flat pieces shaped and decorated. We also learned to solder and made a set of 3 lovely nesting rings which made a great necklace. There were lots of ideas and possibilities for the silver piece in the afternoon and I am delighted with the long bar earrings I made for my daughter. I learned so much and had a lovely time. "Having never worked with any kind of precious materials before and going in with a very specific idea in mind i was slightly apprensive about how the days course might go. However after a few questions from Jonathan to guage my abilities, experince and what i was looking to get out of the days course. Jonathan seemed very confident it could all be achieved. We worked together to achieve the style of ring i wanted to make and what i got from the days course by the end was not only a working knowledge of how to make a silver ring but also the confidence to begin doing so at home on my own. Jonathan was generous with his time even going over the alotted time by about an hour. He was also patient and great at imparting his knowledge and experience. I would absolutley reccomend this course to anyone looking to start making and dealing with silver."
