My two teenage daughters and I had an excellent day learning how to cut glass without cutting ourselves, and making some beautiful creations between us.
Paul was patient and attentive, full of creative ideas to facilitate the pictures we wanted to create, and pulling all sorts of exciting glass out for us to experiment with. We can't wait to receive the finished product once they've gone in the kiln.
I can honestly say that it was money very well spent. The biggest challenge now is saving the pennies to buy my own kiln, to start my new hobby!
(Also, very happy with Covid safety ... Very well thought out and delivered. We wore masks all day, socially distanced during teaching, and had plenty of hand gel and paper towels. We also had our own tools to use throughout the day.)
Thank you also for the simple but yummy lunch, and endless supply of beverages and biscuits!
Top notch! What a brilliant day filled with creativity and fuelled with cups of tea. (Thanks Paul.) I can't recommend this course enough - I'm thrilled with what was achieved in the day 🤩👌😁
Absolutely brilliant day with Paul. Very enjoyable, very interesting, very therapeutic! Paul was very knowledgable and patient and could not do enough to help us throughout the day. A great way to celebrate our mums 70th. Would definitely do this again or perhaps the stained glass workshop next time.
The five of us (2 adults and 3 teenagers) spent a fabulous day with Paul and Natalie learning about fused glass and making our own pieces. Paul and Natalie are very welcoming and excellent teachers. We absolutely loved it.
Spent a lovely day with Natalie and Paul. Paul ran the day for us, taught us all we needed to know. Then step by step we put together our Fused Glass art work. Natalie came in to work her magic and add some awesome touches to what we were creating. It was a fantastic day which we both thoroughly enjoyed and both created something we were chuffed with. Thank you
We had a wonderful day with Paul and Natalie who were warm and welcoming. Everything was at a relaxed pace, with plentiful offers of refreshments. Paul and Natalie were very informative and supportive throughout. It was lovely to see the creativity working with glass that they both have and sharing their knowledge of the skills involved in fused glass. We love the beautiful fused glass we made and would highly recommend the experience to anyone thinking of doing this. The location is set in the beautiful countryside and well worth a stroll on the public footpaths surrounding the area. Thank you Paul and Natalie!
Thank you Paul and Natalie for a really enjoyable day and a lovely lunch. I am delighted with the fused glass wall hanging I made - I want to do more! Hopefully I'll be back quite soon.
This course is definitely good value for money.
I was a complete novice when I started this course but I learned so much as Paul is an excellent instructor, he explained each step of the process in making my stained glass panel and was so patient and encouraging.
He also taught us a lot about stained glass which I have always admired but didn’t realise what went in to making it.
Thank you to Natalie for the lovely lunches we had and to Gracie for sharing her mum and dad with us and being such a good girl.
I came away with a panel that I really love and which now hangs in my kitchen window and looks lovely especially when the sun shines through it and with all the information on how to carry on with this new skill.
I would heartily recommend this course to anyone. Even if you have never attempted glass cutting before, Paul explained the process very well, was patient and gave really positive feedback. I really enjoyed learning a new skill, and am very proud of the panel I made, it has attracted many favourable comments not least from my children who are amazed I actually made it!
Thank you also to Natalie for the lovely lunch provided each day, and to Grace for keeping us entertained.
We look forward to going back to do the glass fusing course in the spring. Thanks to you both, I had an enjoyable couple of days.
I had the most wonderful day with Paul and Natalie and I'd recommend their courses to anyone interested in this craft. The course itself was relaxed and fun - each step was clearly explained, help was available if I needed it, and I never once felt rushed in any aspect. Paul and Natalie were excellent hosts too, and ever so friendly and welcoming. I've come away with a piece I'm really quite proud of, and I'd sign up for any other courses they are running in a heartbeat!
I would highly recommend this course for anyone who is interested in learning more about stained glass. Paul is a wonderful, patient tutor who explains concepts really well - we had a relaxed 2 days making the panel and enjoyed every bit of it! Additionally, the environment was lovely and the coffee/tea flowed in abundance. Paul and Natalie also were really attentive of dietary requirements (e.g. gluten free) and made sure we were well looked after.
If you are a beginner who is hesitating whether or not to book this course, I would recommend you to go for it! You will not regret it!
What a brilliant day in beautiful surroundings. The teaching process was well planned and at the end of the day I had made a fused glass piece which I was pretty happy about. Paul and Natalie were so welcoming with almost limitless tea too! I'd definitely recommend this to anybody interested in learning a new technique.
I had a great time doing this two day course in learning all the techniques needed to make a stained glass window. Paul was very knowledgeable and great at guiding me through the processes. I found a new hobby that I enjoy because of him :) It was lovely to do this course and also meet his lovely family. This course is well worth it!
Paul said the course should be fun and relaxing and it was. Over the two days I learnt stained glass techniques to produce a lovely piece of art. He provided excellent tuition and advised of the best places to obtain the necessary tools and materials to continue with the craft. I was impressed with Paul's willingness to demonstrate other glass working techniques when asked (especially Tiffany); nothing was too much trouble.
Plenty of tea was supplied and lovely lunches in a friendly family environment.
I look forward to returning again to learn more about stained glass or glass fusion.
Loved it all! I must first of all congratulate Paul on his navigational skills. He responded nobly to an SOS and put me on the right track.
The course was a pleasure. Learning about glass was as interesting as the work itself. The hardest bit, before even cutting the glass, was choosing the colours. I would most certainly do it again. The end result is a reminder of a fascinating hobby I should be very happy to take up.
Thank you, Paul.
Really great 2 day course. Professional excellent tuition!!!!
Welcoming and open hosts.
I highly recommend this course.
Paul and Natalie are excellent teachers. The pace and supervision were just right which meant I gained confidence easily. The selection of glasses to work with made me feel like a child in a sweet shop! I’m so pleased with my creation. To top it all, the countryside venue made my day a welcome escape from everything. I’ll be back for more courses and interesting conversation. Highly recommended.
Sorry I have not got back to you before now as we have just arrived home at lunch time today and during our road trip through the EU there was very little WiFi available.
Well where do I start, firstly what a fantastic course I had with you. You meticulously went through all aspects regarding stain glass and gave me the opportunity to learn from the master; learning about lead work, soldering, using a glass grinding machine and what the process was to cement and black lead my work. I must say that anyone who is planning to go on a stain glass course would fully enjoy and learn all that's need from Paul. Throughout the two days the tea and coffee flowed and a good lunch was provided. I am now looking forward to booking two more courses, thanks.
What a fascinating course! Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 full days, and learned so much! Wonderful hosts, plenty of tea and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Cant wait for the next one ☺
Paul and Natalie were very experienced and made the learning process comfortable and most important achievable. After learning the technics of cutting and the tools required I then went on to learn the methods in making stained glass projects when sticking glass to glass, for me as a mosaic artist it was wonderful to see the result when putting some mosaic pieces into the frame. I will certainly return to learn more and highly recommend the course to anyone looking to learn this craft I can assure you it will be well worth it.
