"I decided to join this class to enable me to upcylcle my tired furniture to suit my new home instead of buying new. Katie was great, so patient and knowledgeable she encouraged me to try traditional techniques on my antique chair. Katie gave me lots of advice and guidance on things I could do at home between classes to maximise my time in the workshop. I enjoyed the classes so much I signed up for another course! I have met some fantastic people who I have stayed in touch with and we have all continued to put our new skills to use in our own homes. "I wanted to learn about the wood working aspect of furniture restoration. I have two cane chairs and wanted to understand how to renovate, prepare and finish them off before re caning. Katie was really accommodating with my request so booked a 1-2-1. I am pretty local but hadn’t been to Spode Works before. Katie is really enthusiastic about her craft and obviously knows her stuff. She made the session enjoyable and came away with everything I wanted to learn to start my creative journey. I really enjoyed meeting Katie and would highly recommend her as a teacher and therefore will be attending some more courses in the future. I will be keeping in touch as I feel I’ve met a kindred spirit I can learn from."

And most of all Katie’s patience and manner is just lovely so felt truly supported and proud of what I achieved. Don’t underestimate the amount of time it takes to just take staples out - that is at least half the day for us. And bring a light lunch so you don’t need to pop out and can keep going if you’re short of time. Fabulous day thank toh "
