"A brilliant facility and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Jan and Angela are great teachers, very patient and never daunted when you bring in a slightly bizarre project. I had been meaning to book on a course for ages, finally got round to it and so pleased I did as I have been attending for the past two years and love Tuesday evenings. It is so satisfying when you finish something that you are proud of. Would highly recommend the course."

"I love attending the upholstery course and have been a regular attendee for 2 years at this venue. The facilities are great and the tutition is excellent. We learn and share from each other as well as from Jan and Angela. Their style of tution is very supportive and helps me to learn how to do things for myself, gaining confidence in my own skills and ensuring that I develop. It is a fun class and I enjoy the opportunity to make new friends and look forward to seeing them each week as well as us all sharing the progress of our projects. I would recommend this course as you will learn loads of new skills and take home a beautifully refurbished piece of furniture."

"I absolutely love attending Manorhouse School of Upholstery. It’s such a lovely relaxed atmosphere where you can meet and chat to other like minded people and it’s great to see all the different projects students bring along. Jan and Angela are fabulous teachers. They are patient, knowledgeable and make learning upholstery fun. They are able to advise on any project that students bring along no matter how varied. The school caters for any level of competence and covers both modern and traditional techniques. I’ve attended leisure classes elsewhere but here you’re taught attention to detail and how to do things properly! Highly recommended."

"I am about to start my third year with Jan and Angela. They are both so helpful, knowledgeable and patient which is needed given my limited skills. They offer advice and assistance, both bringing their own experience and approach to any project. The course members are friendly and helpful and there is a really nice atmosphere each week. I would recommend anyone gives upholstery a go - it's great fun and the sense of satisfaction when you finish a project which is a joint effort with Jan and Angela is fantastic."

Jacky G reviewed: Upholstery skills - from basic to advanced, traditional and modern styles

"As much as I learn loads on this course, I consider it a great social as well. I love watching Jan and Angela thrash out solutions to new upholstery challenges; each project is treated as unique and the answers are never left uncovered. They 're both tremendous teachers, work at a fierce pace (if that's what you want), and correction is communicated in a sympathetic manner. It's also lovely to talk to other participants about their projects and everyone is more than happy to share. I can't recommend highly enough. Jacky G"
