Paula reviewed: Stained glass taster day in Worcestershire

"What a lovely day I spent with Vicky. I adore stained glass windows, so it was a thrill to make my very own panel with expert guidance in a very relaxed & highly informative way. Vicky is patient, supportive, provides a great lunch & is good company. I feel that I now have a good basic knowledge to enable me to buy some tools in order to design, score cut lines, break glass in different ways, grind glass edges, cutting lead & solder (although my soldering definitely needs practise but I do know where I'm going wrong). Many thanks for a fab day, Vicky."

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Hi Paula, thank you for your kind words, it is appreciated. As with most things, a bit of practice goes a long way, just remember not to smoosh or stroke the dog and you've got the soldering sorted! Any questions just ask. All the best Vicky "

Laura Icke reviewed: Fused glass introduction full day at Kingcot, Worcestershire

"An amazing experience from beginning to end. Vicky took her time to talk me through what we would be doing and really helped me achieve what I wanted with my pieces. Every question was answered, no matter how silly, and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. I had so much fun chatting away and laughing while working that the time flew by so I will definitely be booking in for more courses with her. I can't wait to see what my finished pieces turn out like! 100% recommended!"

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Laura, thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. On my side I've now had it confirmed that cows can lie down before rain - or just because they're lazy! It would be a pleasure to see you again. All the best Vicky"

Judy Withers reviewed: Fused glass introduction full day at Kingcot, Worcestershire

"I had a wonderful time with Vicky teaching me stained glass working. I learned to cut glass in curves! To flux, fid and solder. Rounded off with a heart which I learned to copper foil. Vicky is very friendly and a great teacher, taking time to explain things and totally patient if I was struggling..lunch was lovely too. Although I am a bit wobbly, she took great care of me and was thoughtful as to how I could complete some parts of the course. I shall be booking for another course before December. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ "

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Dear Judy, it was a pleasure (and privilege) to entertain you on your birthday. Thank you for your kind words, it is appreciated, and it would be great to see you again. All the best Vicky"

Helen Prout reviewed: Stained glass taster day in Worcestershire

"Prior to attending the workshop with Vicky I had done 3 stained glass/copper foiling workshops in 3 different venues with 3 different tutors. While Iโ€™d had mixed experiences, I knew I wanted to do more so couldnโ€™t believe my luck when I found someone offering workshops conveniently located less than 30 mins away from me. I wasnโ€™t sure whether Iโ€™d be the only attendee or part of a larger class but was pretty chuffed to discover it was just me and Vicky. Iโ€™d taken some printouts of ideas I had for what I wanted to do but seeing the templates Vicky had available I decided to do a square panel which Vicky said we could put a lead border around, as well as a curved heart. I had a fantastic day with plenty of time available for planning/drawing out the design, choosing, cutting and grinding the glass, copper foiling then soldering my 8โ€ panel and heart, then putting the lead border around my 8โ€ square Lunch was a rather tasty vegetable chilli, served with salad, rice and garlic bread followed by chocolate cake. Vicky is an excellent teacher; she has a wealth of knowledge and experience which she is more than happy to share and allows you to decide for yourself what you want to create. The workshop was scheduled to finish at 4.30 but it was 6pm when I left โ€“ there was no rushing me to get my pieces finished, or sending me away with pieces that were unfinished. I had a brilliant time and will be booking another workshop very soon. Thank you Vicky. "

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Dear Helen, thank you so much for your fabulous review, it is appreciated. I do think that knowledge is there to pass on and encourage people to try new crafts or enhance what is already there. I look forward to passing more on in the future!"

Katriona reviewed: Fused glass introduction 1/2 day at Kingcot, Worcestershire

"I did a half-day course in fused glass and it was a great experience. I made 5 hangers with abstract designs, some as Christmas presents, some for myself. I came with a couple of sketches but other ideas evolved as I handled the glass - the different colours and textures. I wasn't the neatest so am hoping the kiln will work its magic. It's left me with such a good feeling. Couldn't recommend it highly enough."

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Thank you for this, it was good to see how you made items that had a personal meaning by using the glass to represent different things - it's given me food for thought! "

"This was such a fun day from start to finish as we were taken through each step of stain glass making by Vicky and Vic. Both were kind and patient giving us clear and concise guidance of the process and we were able to produce not to shabby decorations to display at home as a great reminder of our day - our friends and family were quite impressed with our masterpieces when we showed them ๐Ÿ™‚ The amazing spread at lunchtime was superb too ! We cannot wait to go back to the workshop again to experience one of the other courses on offer and would highly recommend anyone to try it for themselves it was worth every penny Thank you again Vicky and Vic for sharing your knowledge and skills with us x"

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Julie, it was a most enjoyable day for us as well, just remember to dab and not stroke.......!"

andy molony reviewed: Stained glass taster day in Worcestershire

"Thank you for sharing your knowledge so freely. I asked a lot of technical questions and was provided with very clear and understandable responses. The course I opted for was the stained glass window making. I learnt plenty in such a short amount of time. I initially thought that Vicky was a former school teacher; her delivery of instruction and ability to provide a relaxed learning environment was brilliant. I think I will be visiting again to collect some more knowledge in the future. I would fully recommend Vicky to anyone who wants to learn working with glass skills. I enjoyed my day off work to escape to a creative environment."

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"My pleasure, it's always good to see the course being done in order to develop the techniques learnt in other work."

Corrine reviewed: Fused glass introduction 1/2 day at Kingcot, Worcestershire

"Brilliant morning learning about glass fusion. I arrived a total novice with no idea of what was really involved. I managed to produce 4 coasters which Vicky is putting through the kiln and will deliver to my door. Vicky makes it look so very easy and makes sure you are comfortable with the processes before letting you loose on your master piece. Not rushed at any stage and allowed to progress at my own rate. Would recommend this to all my friends"

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Thank you for this, it is appreciated! I'll see you on my way back from the lake......"
