"This is my second willow sculpture workshop with Kate having completed a marvellous heron first time around and this time a barn owl in flight. Excellent workshop, great to come away with a decent piece at the end of a very enjoyable day. Kate is relaxed, easy going and accommodating, guides you through the stages of sculpting the willow into your desired piece without fuss, stress or despair and if you trust Kate and go with the process you get amazing results! The day is therapeutic and we enjoyed Kate and Dave's hospitality with lovely tea, coffee and lunch. A great day, highly recommended."

Kate Morrell willow sculpture responded:

"Many thanks for your kind words i so enjoyed the day lots of laughs and lovely sculptures"

"I enjoyed a great workshop with Kate this week. Kate offers a choice of sculpture you would like to make which is rare in this kind of workshop along with just the right amount of guidance in a relaxed environment. Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the day and at the end you take home a fabulous sculpture. I would highly recommend."

"Spent a great day with Kate learning how to weave willow. I was a complete beginner but came away with an imposing 6 foot heron which I am delighted with and which has already garnered many positive comments. I will definitely be attending another course in the near future"

"What a rewarding day spent willow weaving with Kate. Fabulous tutor, so patient and encouraging. Lovely group of weavers too making a hare and herons, I made a chicken “Henny Penny”. Lovely to see how we each created our animals. Plenty of refreshments and lovely lunch all included and served by Kate's partner. What a lovely way to spend a very wet Wednesday. Thank you Kate and partner."

We absolutely recommend joining Kate on one of her workshops."

"My friend and I spent a lovely day on one of Kate's willow weaving courses yesterday. Even though the weather was not kind we had shelter, a tasty lunch and a very warm welcome. Social distancing was observed throughout. I came away with a duck sculpture of which I am delighted. Kate is calm and has a way of giving you just the right amount of help to keep things on track. Thanks for a great day!"

"A wonderful experience, in the perfect setting. I created an amazing willow hare. Kate is a brilliant tutor, never having done willow work before she gave me confidence to go for it, with lots of quiet and very patient help from her. The course gives a unique insight to this ancient art. With a real life result to take home with you. Can't wait to do another day. Homemade lunch was delicious, but couldn’t wait to start the ‘ears “next on the ‘hare’ agenda. Thank you Kate."

Kate Morrell willow sculpture responded:

"Thanks alison. I enjoyed the day and you made such an amazing hare. Well done!!"

"Had a fantastic inspiring day with Kate on Saturday. I was a little apprehensive at first but was soon put at ease. I found Kate's instructions easy to follow and I didn't feel rushed at all. A great way to completely absorb yourself from the outside world and relax. The provided lunch was fabulous and home cooked. This workshop was bought as a Christmas present from my husband, and a great one it was and still is as I have a wonderful Heron waiting to go outside in the Spring. Thank you Kate for your patience."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my recent willow weaving course with Kate. She is a warm and chatty host. She shares her enthusiasm and talent with every member of the group and ensures everyone leaves with a sense of pride in what they have achieved. Henrietta the hare will join the rest of the "garden gang " when the weather is warmer. I would thoroughly recommend this course to everyone."

"I have had such a lovely day today learning to willow weave a barn owl in flight, well worth driving from Suffolk for. Dave and Kate have been fantastic hosts welcoming me warmly even though I arrived early. Kate is a brilliant teacher, guiding, inspiring and helping as and when needed, and generous with her time. I had to leave on time as a long drive home but my owl is very nearly complete and Kate gave me enough rods and confidence to finish it at leisure tomorrow myself at home. I will definitely return for another workshop. It was also lovely to see the other sculptures taking shape today, a really cute lop eared rabbit and very elegant flamingo. Great lunch and plenty of drinks, and loved Bertie the cat who appeared at my feet now and then. My plan is to hang my owl from a high ceiling in my hallway."

"My mum booked me on one of Kate’s willow sculpture courses for my birthday. I had a fantastic day learning to weave, there were several other people on the course that had a bit more experience which worried me, but Kate explained everything and I ended up being over the moon with my sculpture! I would highly recommend any course ran by Kate, she’s very easy to get along with and a great host. The food at lunch was delicious and there was plenty of it. I’ll definitely be back."

Kate Morrell willow sculpture responded:

"Thanks jake your fox was amazing and thanks for the great review i had a lovely day with all of you. Good luck with any future projects Kate x"

"This is my second time with Kate, I made a heron on the first course and a baby deer on this occasion. Kate is so artistic and really brings her eye to helping you get the best proportions and correct anatomy, so that your piece not only looks great, but has a genuine likeness and personality! I will definitely recommend this course, lovely atmosphere and food, and Kate is truly patient and passionate about her craft."

"Had a really enjoyable day on this course. The finished result is beyond what I thought would be possible as a beginner, mainly due to Kate’s patient guidance and expertise. I imagined going home with a small willow animal, but came home with a full sized standing duck! My sister created an impressive full sized heron which looks amazing next to her pond. Kate is very welcoming and has such a calm nature which puts everyone at ease. I was lost in the moment for most of the day so as well as being productive it was also a very relaxing day. Lunch was delicious, with homemade soup, sandwiches, flatbreads and a delicious slice of homemade cake. Kate made sure everyone received 1:1 attention and guidance as well as instructing us as a group. I would definitely recommend this course, it was beyond my expectations."

"Kate is friendly and enthusiastic. I was welcomed into her home along with 6 others. We could choose which animal we wanted to create and I chose a wren. Most of the others chose cranes and ducks. I think in hindsight I should have gone with the rest of the class, as they were taken through each step in the process. I could, of course, apply the techniques to my bird but there were differences in what I needed to do. Having said that, it was great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Kate came round to each of us individually to coach and encourage. She was in no rush to finish the day, and gave clear instruction with patience and humour. We were treated to an excellent lunch which included an enormous slice of homemade carrot cake made to her Mum's recipe. Thank you Kate. I had a lovely day."

"Two of us attended Kate's workshop today. Complete novices and we actually came home having completed a heron each! Kind instruction from Kate, a warm welcome and lovely lunch. This was gifted to us by a family member so its lovely to be able to say a huge thank you to Kate and to our family for the gift too. I highly recommend this to anyone as a beginning. One course may not be enough."

"Spent a lovely day with Kate learning how to make a willow sculpture. Never done this craft before and found Kate's instruction helpful and patient; she kept me on track so that I had a finished item by the end of the day, a heron. The workshop was held in Kate's beautiful garden and she provided refreshments and a lovely lunch. Very enjoyable and fantastic to come away with a finished item. Planning my next visit with a friend to develop my skills."

"Another fantastic day with Kate, this time making a rabbit - totally different from the dragonfly I made the first time I attended her workshop. Kate is very enthusiastic, helpful and really knows how to work her magic with willow! I will definitely be going back a third time - I have room for a small menagerie of animals in the garden. Thanks again Kate."

"I’ve just returned from Kate’s wonderful workshop. It really was a fabulous day. Kate is so knowledgeable about her craft and definitely has an eye for form. She is patient and helpful and so relaxed with it all so in turn your more relaxed and enjoy what your creating. I left with a very big heron and I’ve passed the pictures all round my friends and the response is amazing. Thank you so much Kate...... I definitely will be back."

"A huge thank you to Kate and Dave for our lovely day with you. We were a group of 7 adults, including my brother and brother-in-law, who were a little reticent at the outset. By the end of the day, we had enjoyed a very nice lunch in the garden, (served by Dave) and with Kate's patient, gentle assistance, we had produced 3 mallards, 2 herons and 2 running ducks - all of them looking splendid. The men had taken to the task very well and secretly enjoyed every minute, as did the rest of us. I am especially grateful to Kate and Dave for all the extra thoughtful touches you provided in celebration of my big round number birthday- including decorations, serviettes and the most fabulous cake. You really are a very special talented lady. We all had a wonderful full day and I would not hesitate to recommend Kate's courses to anyone. Thank you so much."

"Had a fabulous day with Kate making a dragonfly. Thoroughly delighted with it - just need to finish off the infill in the wings at home, as I ran out of time. Kate is very talented and very patient with you. Lunch was lovely sat in the garden. What a way to spend a Saturday - wonderful!! I shall definitely be going back to make something else. Thank you Kate."

"We came along with zero skills and a desire to create: we were not disappointed! It was a very relaxing day in Kate’s lovely home with a small group. By the end, a couple of herons, rabbits and a giant chicken were all made (& looked great!). For me, my proudest moment: Derek the giant Dodo was born in the room! Plenty of refreshments, a lovely lunch and some good banter throughout: Kate is a great artist, able to help guide us to our destination. Highly recommended! Lovely to meet Borris the Schnauzer too :)"
