"Brilliant four laid back hours covering the basics of bead making. Ruth was very friendly and informative and we were able to get our hands on some beautiful glass with colours we chose ourselves. Made about 10 beads, gradually improving the technique each time. Lovely lunch provided too. Highly recommend "

"My friend and I went on a day course learning the basics of bead-making. We started with no knowledge whatsoever and over the day we gained confidence and produced some excellent results. We even moved on to making glass icicles. It was an excellent day and a perfect introduction to lampwork. I now need to buy my own kit! I would recommend these courses to anyone. "An amazing and informative day. Ruth and Andy are smashing people, we'd met them at a Craft Fair and got chatting and decided on a day course. You are instantly welcomed into their home, if you don't mind dogs Bentley will welcome you too :-) They are so enthusiastic about their craft, and give you as much information as you can soak up. Making the glass beads was amazing, I love the way the glass behaves when it's hot. Cutting the glass ready for fusing was a little more frustrating but that was down to us, not Andy! A brilliant day, might not be setting up ourselves, but I think I'll be back for another session with Ruth at some point. All this, and a great lunch too :-)"

"My mother and I attended the one day course. Being complete beginners we needed all the help and advice that we were given, but we were soon making some wonderful beads. Ruth and Andy are wonderful teachers and very patient when things were not going right! but we got there in the end. I am all fired up to get producing on my own, if only I can find somewhere safe and quiet to work. A very good fun day and excellent value for money. Plus a delicious homemade lunch ;)"

"Andy and Ruth at Kalypso Glassworks were fantastic. It was my first attempt at lampwork. I took the morning class, which started at 10am. Andy went over safety and the basics of lampwork beadmaking. Then Ruth took over to patiently walk me through making a few beads. They were both very friendly, knowledgeable and fun to learn from. It was an immensely enjoyable morning. Two days later my attempts arrived in the post - kiln annealed for strength and just the right size to fit on my charm bead bracelet. A really delightful experience and I would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you (-:"
