MARGARET KELLEY reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"What an amazing experience! I really enjoyed the one day course with Janice and Jean, and have come away with a huge number of ideas I would really like to try in the future. The course was very well organised and paced. Janice and Jean demonstrated different techniques very clearly and were on hand to explain and support our efforts throughout the day; guiding but also allowing exploration. I was able to make bigger pieces in the afternoon and try out another technique. A homemade lunch (soup, freshly baked bread and cakes) was a real bonus."

JJ Fused Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind words, Margaret. It was a pleasure to meet you both. I’m so glad you enjoyed the way we teach - and our cooking! We look forward to you collecting your pieces of art, and your return for more exploration. Janice."

"Attend this Worksop yesterday. Didn’t know what to expect but wow ? it was fantastic and I certainly got my husbands monies worth from my birthday voucher. Talented teachers, time well spent with the group and individually. Didn’t know I was so talented in making my glass pieces and I can’t wait to see the finishing pieces. I’m sure I’ll be back again next year. Oh, and home made soup and bread too. Thank you Jean and Janice."

JJ Fused Glass responded:

"Thank you Suzanne. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your introduction to fused glass. It was lovely to meet you. We’re sure you’ll love your pieces of fused glass when they have been fired."

"Have done this class twice now and what can i say besides amazing. The range of items you can make is unbelievable. A thoroughly enjoyable class with two incredibly talented teachers. The time They give the students is such that you never feel pushed to one side. They are always on hand to give advice and to ensure that the end results are well worth the effort. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to give glass fusing a go even if you are not sure you need to do this class. You will achieve and make something you never dreamed you could."

JJ Fused Glass responded:

"Thank you Jo, for your kind review. It was great to see you yesterday when you collected your lovely pieces of glass art. We’re looking forward to your next visit!"

Susan Whitaker reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"As a complete beginner I attended the course on 29.05.18. The two tutors showed us a range of techniques, explaining everything in detail as we went along, and keeping a very watchful eye on what we were doing to ensure a pleasing outcome. They also valued our efforts and paid careful attention to firing our pieces. I am thrilled with what I made and I have signed up for another day in the Autumn. Thank you so much. P.S. Lovely lunch too."

Lynda Conroy reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"I was an absolute beginner, the teachers were extremely patient and encouraged me to try and do things that I thought might be beyond my capabilities. I have made 7 items from a simple coaster to cutting petals and making a 'Poppy Bowl'. As the class was on 'Remembrance Sunday' I will always look at this and remember a really wonderful, but tiring day with other like minded friendly people.5"

"I have attended this course on a number of occasions and I love going back. Mainly for the friendly and knowledgeable instructors and the fresh bread and home-made chutneys! Would highly recommend this class to anyone. You will be amazed at what you can achieve even on the first try. It's highly addictive and after the first go you'll be bursting with new ideas to try out. It's a really fun environment, made so by the hosts, in a lovely part of the world. Make a weekend of it :)"

"Have just spent a Fantastic day with Jean & Janice at their workshop. The group of people that attended were brilliant and made myself and the other two newbies feel very welcome. It's like sitting in a room that is a cross between Aladdin's cave and an alchemists lab...you want to try everything but don't know the formula !! The ladies were great at explaining the basics (including the very important health and safety) and soon had us working on our first piece. I am still chanting the mantra of 'tin sandwich' and keeping my fingers crossed that the pieces I worked on turn out ok ! After a delicious lunch of homemade soups and breads followed by cake , we carried on with making , in my case a bowl ( other people worked on different shapes) All too soon it was time to finish. I can't wait to see how my first attempts turn out. O.k. I hold my hand up , I am hooked , I have booked to go again. I can't call myself a glass fusionista yet but who knows !!!!!"

"Thank you Jean and Janette both so much for a fantastic informative fun day. I've learnt so much today my head hurts and can't wait to see the outcome of my efforts and just hope I got my 'tin sandwiches' right! Jean and Janette were brill and patient taking us newbies through the basics with a series of different techniques for us try with flexibility for us to adapt. By the end of the session we were flying solo creating master pieces (I hope) with plenty of guidance and advise on hand when required. It was amazing how much material there was available for us to use and experiment with, in such a friendly and relaxed environment. Also worth mentioning was the super lunch with homemade soups, bread and cakes not to mention fresh coffee. Can't wait to return for another session, so many ideas to try. Thank you."

Sue Andrews reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"Thank you both for a fantastic day, I didn't know what to expect except that I'm not very arty so thought I'd not achieve very much. You put us all at ease right from the start, the instruction was easy to follow and the day was well organised but also made flexible to suit us. I came home feeling very pleased with myself. The lunch was delightful. I will be recommending this to friends."

"Can't recommend this course and the lovely ladies that run it. I have been taking their courses for over 2 years and despite now having my own kiln, I still attend their courses. I love that I get to meet up with other "regulars" as well as making new friends. At every course we learn new tools and techniques, have a fabulous lunch and still have lots of time to make our own designs. The venue is perfect, the tools and safety equipment all provided and in excellent condition. They have every possible colour of glass powders, hundreds of stencils to chose from and loads of ideas to help you produce some great end products. I have personally made: coasters, large and small plates, table top, light shade, candle holders, spoon rest, wall hangings, decorative waves and loads more. Tried others courses but this is the best one by far!"

Phill reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"Lovely people providing a warm welcome. They provide lots of materials for you to choose from and so you are really limited only by your imgaination. Start of with how to safely cut glass, and moves to different methods to bring life to your work. A vegitarian lunch is provided which was truly delicious. The course is tailoured to suit those attending so whether your a beginner or more advanced between the two tutors you have your artistic and techincal skills improved."

The techniques shown to us were fascinating and taught in such a way that even us complete novices found it easy to follow. We can't wait to see our work once it has been in the kiln. Definitely recommend this day to everyone. My sister and I want to book onto another now!"
