"I couldn't make the 6 week course I booked and paid for a month earlier as I dislocated my left arm the week before the course and so I called to explain this to Bernard who basically accused me of being a liar & making it up to get out of the course by saying "oh really that's interesting - you would be surprised how many people break things just before the start of the course". I took exception to this as I let him know within an hour of getting back from A & E and finding out I would likely need surgery to fix it, and so obviously would not be able to make the course I had booked & paid for & had been really looking forward to. He refused to give me a refund and when I challenged him on this I just got a speech about that's why he is still in business when many others are not as he refuses to give refunds, which honestly I thought was a little harsh!!! I complained to CraftCourses where I saw the ad and a week later I received a £60 refund for a £120 course and no apology or email or call to explain why. I'm grateful for the refund but it took a lot to get even what I got. So I would say to anyone thinking of booking with them to make sure you are not going to have a life at all before the course as if anything 'life like' happens you won't get your money back & you will be verbally abused for free as it turned out!!! So be prepared to loose your money & get a tongue lashing for having any courtesy if you are thinking of booking with them would be my advice!!!!"

"I have just completed the 10wk mixed level evening jewellery course, as well as the one day stone setting workshop. Bernard and Jane have been nothing but patient, helpful and encouraging. Their knowledge of jewellery, techniques, stones, shops and tools is incredibly extensive, and are on hand to answer any and every question! This, combined with their teaching capabilities made the course incredibly useful and enjoyable for me. I have learnt and made so much in the past 10wks, which wouldn't have been possible without their expertise and help. The workshop itself has a vast range of equipment and tools to help with whatever projects you may want to do. Bernard and Jane also sell silver, chains, some tools etc so everything is very accessible. There is plenty of space and tools in the workshop, and the atmosphere is very relaxed making it a really enjoyable environment to work in. As well as being taught the practical side of how to make things, the processes behind everything you do is also explained, so you understand the reasons behind what you are doing. This has really helped me gain confidence, understand the processes a lot more, and know which tools to use for the job. Whether you are looking to start a new hobby, improve on your skills or start a career in jewellery making, Bernard and Jane will do everything they can to help you achieve your goals. Thank you for all your help so far B&J!"

"I've been attending this class for the last 18 months, following immediately on from the introductory course. Why am I still coming? Put simply, because I am still learning. It's hands on, with lots of one to one time from Bernard, and if you can imagine it, Bernard will help you create it. It's the perfect environment to develop your skills in whatever direction you choose. I would recommend without hesitation."

"Undertook this workshop just after the 6 week introduction course. You really do need to have mastered the basics of handling and cutting metal, filing, soldering etc as the workshop is an intensive day packed with lots of new skills to learn. Bernard and Jane made this lots of fun though and I came away with some lovely finished pieces and the confidence to make more. All this and there was delicious cake too!"

"I originally booked this course because I wanted to learn a new creative skill. Over the 6 week period I went from being a complete novice to reasonably proficient. Bernard is an excellent tutor - very supportive and extremely knowledgeable. He and Jane also made the learning process really enjoyable. After that initial 6 weeks I was hooked and wanted to keep getting better so I immediately booked onto the intermediate course. 18 months later I am still attending - pushing my skills further and further with Bernard's expert help. Would recommend this course to anyone."

"Bernard and Jane are just great. I've been going to their classes since the summer last year. Love my Monday nights. I generally make pieces for myself - there are others coming because they want a career change - all a treated equally and given the same amount of attention. It's you that sets the pace. Bernard and Jane are generous with their knowledge. Friendly atmosphere, good banter and the class are always interested in what others have created. Can't recommend highly enough. If you always wished you had done this - then sign up and come along."

"Having attended all classes, the intermediate/advanced is a class I attend regularly and will continue to do so. This class gives me the knowledge and skills needed to try new techniques and also the confidence to continue to make and sell jewellery. All the resources needed are included and I find Bernads advice invaluable. I cannot recommend this class highly enough!! Bernard and Jane are just great company too and the relaxed atmosphere makes it always a pleasure coming here!"

"Found this course online when local authority craft class failed to run due to low numbers-serendipity! Low numbers at Bernard and Jane's classes means lots of attention, no queues for equipment and lots of interaction between tutors and students in a relaxed atmosphere.B&J are so supportive and encouraging.I'm glad I discovered JWL ."

"This course was fantastic. Continuing on fluently from the beginners course, Bernard coaches you through more advanced techniques with his usual patient and affable manner. Again the course is very hands on with most of your time spent over a huge vice, soldering station or jewellers bench. Highly recommended to those who want to go one step further along the road of jewellery making. Awesome!"

"Bernard and Jane are really nice - helpful and very knowledgable with a wealth of experience which they are willing to share. The workshop is well equipped and designed so you always have space to work regardless of class size. The atmosphere of the classes is relaxed, creative and supportive but with Bernard and Jane leading it it wouldn't be anything else. The cost of this course is a total bargain, if you are thinking of doing this, just stop thinking now and get it done or you'll regret it."

"This is a superb course. The tutors are patient and helpful, and let you learn at your own pace. You are taught all the basics, and after doing the course I am now designing and creating my own work from copper, bronze and silver. Highly recommended and very good value for money."
