During training at Cordwainers, London College of Fashion in 2010 I learnt how to design, make and manufacture bags professionally. Following a varied career in Accessories design and development across many roles and international brands I set up Hands of Tym in 2016. The courses I offer are suitable for all, from experienced to total novice. Come along to learn something new, and design and make your own leather bag in a day.

'Bag in a Day' Practical Hand Stitching Leather Course - The Satchel
"I had a 1-2-1 1/2 day course with Georgie and couldn't recommend it more highly.
I had some previous experience with leather work but had some gaps in knowledge. I had prepared some bags but needed guidance on how to make and attach the bag handles.
Georgie not only patiently showed me how to complete these with recommendations, but also showed me other options, how to use a machine as well as hand-sew my solutions, created a bag pattern for me based on my designs and gave me the opportunity to learn more about the tools and products suitable for my plans.
She was so lovely to learn from and the studio was enviably peaceful to work in.
Would definitely book in another session with Georgie for any further leather-work learning. "
Hands of Tym responded:
" Thanks so much Ani, it was a pleasure to meet you and your work is gorgeous "
"I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon of belt making. Great company, excellent instruction and I left with a really good quality belt which will last me for many years and for which I am already being complemented. Great value for money and a really fun afternoon well spent. "
Hands of Tym responded:
" Thanks so much, it was a pleasure to have you here and you made a great belt!"
"My 1-2-1 tuition day with Georgie was a great experience. I wanted to be able to make eyepatches and I brought some examples with me but no concrete plan. Georgie helped to design a pattern and new style of adjustable strap. She then guided me through cutting, moulding, edge finishing, riveting and saddle stitching.
I had no prior experience with leather or crafts generally, but this was no problem. With excellent tutoring, I finished the day with 3 eyepatches and many ideas for future variations. The end result is better than any of the ones previous ones I've had, and it's great to wear something I made myself.
The workshop is a cosy and fun environment and Georgie is very easy to get along with. The day passed very quickly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone; it's great value considering the items you produce and the skills you acquire."
