"What can I say other than absolutely amazing. Angelina was so welcoming and the studio is set in a wonderful gallery. My husband and I attended a full day course suitable for beginners and by the end of th day we were proudly displaying our finished product......the day flew by and the learning through demonstration worked really well. I would highly recommend this course, but be warned, you'll get the stained glass bug! Thanks to Glass by Design in Penarth for an amazing experience."

"I’ve been on a couple of glass workshops with the Glass by Design team and they have always been excellent. I had been booked to attend a fused glass workshop with Cathy in March, the weekend after the lockdown began, and so it had to be postponed. However, I have just attended the workshop at the beginning of July as they have worked hard to build out individual booths in which you can work, separate from the other attendees and the tutor, whilst still getting excellent practical advice from knowledgeable tutors such as Cathy on fused glass (and Angelina on Stained Glass). They have put in place much to ensure that you and their safety is maintained at all times. Already thinking about when I should book another day. Thank you Cathy, I had a great day, as expected."

"Busy, but well structured day. Good communication, with the right amount of demonstration and opportunity to work on your own project, with instruction provided when required. This not only guaranteed success, but provided a real sense of achievement. I was very pleased with the end result and will probably return for more learning. All in all, a good mix of instruction and opportunity to be creative in a very pleasant environment."

"I booked the fused glass workshop as a birthday treat for my son and mother in law. We are all different ages and this was the most enjoyable day for us all. Cathy is informative, patient and very inspirational. Its thoroughly absorbing and the most wonderful way to spend a day. The workshop is small but has everything you require to be as creative as possible. My son had the most challenging design idea but with Cathy's expertise and patience he has the most incredible piece of glass artwork very unique to him."

"Stained glass course, with Angelina. We were made to feel very welcome, a relaxed atmosphere. Detailed instructions on cutting glass safely and then on to the practical, rather daunting but with the help of Angelina it wasn’t a problem. Lunch was included which we had a the Fox Deli across the road, excellent. At the end of day one we had a stained glass work of art, day two an hour to clean and polish. A great course now I feel happy to have a go at home, Glass by Design also supply the glass and lead for you to create and complete your own stain glass designs."

"I took my two children to Glass by Design to make a glass coaster. They had a great time constructing the design of the coaster under Kathy’s careful guidance. She was very supportive and patient. Nothing was too much trouble. The session flew by and both children (11 and 10 years old) said that they had both thoroughly enjoyed the class. They were even more pleased to see the finished product a week later, and both coasters look very professional. Would certainly recommend this experience, and only wished I had booked myself on the course at the same time!"

"My brother and I took our mum on this course for her 60th birthday, hoping to make some memories as well as some keepsakes. The day did not disappoint! The classes are very intimate (max 3-4 people), so you get lots of one-to-one guidance. Cathy helped each of us take an idea and make it happen, and we each came away with something totally different, and that we felt really proud of. The team at Glass By Design are all lovely, too. I can't recommend this course highly enough"

"Had a wonderful time here and thoroughly enjoyed the course. I made a floral piece that catches the light every day in my kitchen. There were only two of us which meant we had almost one to one teaching. Plenty of instruction and information was given. We had a lovely lunch and plenty of coffee. I went back to collect our pieces about a week later after firing and I was really impressed how good it was!! It’s currently on my Pinterest page and has been repinned lots of times. My husband bought this course for me as a gift and was so impressed he bought me another for our wedding anniversary. I had a fab day and would recommend to anyone. Thanks girls."

"Thoroughly enjoyed a half day fused glass course. Went with a friend and there were only the two of us on the course and we got very friendly, helpful tuition from Cathy. We learnt about fused glass and each made a lovely suncatcher and picture. We are not very "arty" but are really pleased with our results. Will definitely be coming back. Would highly recommend this course....and there are some great things to buy in the shop too!"

"Our 8 year old daughter is now completely captivated with glass fusion having spent 2 amazing mornings with Cathy learning this specialist craft. With clear expert instruction from Cathy and 2 hours of concentration a beautiful horse and an elephant were created, using tweezers to dexterously place fine glass rods and twinkling stones onto a glass base. Each piece is unique and very much treasured- a magical morning."
