I attended Fiona’s course on the 16th March and thanks to her grace, patience, excellent advice and generosity in the usage of her tools and kiln I’ve never looked back (accept for the memories when looking at the pieces I made). I highly recommend her course if you’ve never tried making jewellery using metal clay before.
This course introduces you to using fine .999 silver clay that, once fired (via kiln or torch which Fiona demonstrated to my class) produces a beautiful hardened piece of jewellery be it a pendant or set of earrings that you created yourself. Fiona gave each of us a small piece of regular polymer clay to practise on in order to give us a good idea of how we could envision our pieces to be shaped. There was no real time constriction, and everyone in my class including me enjoyed ourselves. The amount of silver clay given to each person was also enough to create (at least for me) approx. 4-5 small pieces.
She provided an abundance of tools, patterns and textures for us to use at our leisure and for a small fee even gave us an option to have a silver chain if we created pendants.
The whole experience was encouraging and very educational for me having been invested in making metal clay jewellery. The price of the course is very reasonable, in fact the best around.
The workshop took place in a rather small studio space but still gave us enough ample room for about 8 students, and the venue itself (Fisherton Mill) is a lovely setting with a chance to be inspired by the galleries on display plus a cafe where you can chat to fellow enthusiasts.
Long story short; the venue, Fiona’s tutelage and outcome of making your own personalised jewellery without the fuss of soldering and tinkering that you’d normally get via goldsmithing is worth the price of admission.

I really enjoyed my time on this course. I didn't realise in advance that the jewellery I would be making with the silver clay would actually be, once fired, pure silver! And it seemed like magic watching it happen. Fiona was very clear and organised and the session was really enjoyable. I went home with a necklace and a pair of earrings and I now proudly wear them when I go out! I was really pleased with what I managed to achieve as a total beginner.

Fantastic morning with Claire and learnt so much about techniques I could use with my kiln. Would highly recommend this course to anyone who either is a total novice or has some experience of working with glass. Thank you for a wonderful morning

attended a course earlier this month with my daughters, we all loved it. It is the second visit and we will be back in the future. We all made pieces with a christmassy theme that can be brought out year after year as they look so pretty. Once you have attended a course you want to go back as you learn more each time and each piece is so individual. Claire is very patient and explains everything as you go along. I would definitely recommend it if you like creating things.

Claire is a great teacher who explains and demonstrates but allows each person to enjoy and experiment with the glass. I have been on several workshops and have made some lovely pieces. Some I have given as presents and some have been given pride of place in my sitting room.
If you want an activity where you can totally immerse yourself in and de stress this is the one for you. Plus good value for money.

We have been on two workshops with Claire as part of a family ‘girls day out’. Claire is friendly and supportive, sharing her own work to inspire! It is a lovely workshop as even the most basic designs look beautiful once fused. We all made items to keep as well as gifts for others. The setting is perfect too as the cafe and shop are a fab place to spend an hourbor so after the workshop. We will be back again in the near future. Thank you Claire.

Enjoyed a very informative workshop with Claire and although this was my first attempt at glass fusing both the Christmas tree and glass hanging ornament look very professional. Would definitely recommend her workshops to others. I'm hoping to go again in 2018 as glass fusing is certainly addictive and also very relaxing. Thank you Claire.

Claire ran a fantastic, informative and relaxed glass making course. My Mum and I had such a lovely time together. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the results were lovely. I’m looking forward to putting my children’s decorations back up again this Christmas. Thank you Claire!
