My youngest son loved getting involved in making a rainbow for his grandparents in lockdown. There was enough wool to make two! Beautiful colours and great instructions which were easy to follow.
My son really enjoyed making the large rainbow project with me especially the bit with the water. We have had a lot of art projects to do re schoolwork and he has been drawing rainbows for the local shop windows, Fire station - Dad works there and for the elderly who don’t have young grandchildren. Thanks again.
I absolutely love the colours of this kit which comes with clear instructions yet a chance to be original. My first one is for my office wall to cheer me up. Great kit and good value.
Thanks for all your help with your step by step guide. The rainbow turned out better than I expected and Fraser really enjoyed making it, especially the bit with the water.
Will be attempting the felt soaps next, thanks for adding them in. Ruari is even going to give it a go.
Take care and stay safe.
What a wonderful surprise to open up this delightful package of colours! It came on a very dark day and I am keen to clear the decks and get started on my rainbow banner. Very good communication and patient advice from Judi - nothing was too much trouble.
The rainbow kits arrived yesterday and the wool colours are amazing! I can't wait to get started with my daughter as we've been isolating and wanted to try something creative and new. The instructions look very easy to follow and Judi was quick to respond, answer all questions and dispatch the item. Excellent service.
Just spent a couple of lovely afternoons making felted soaps guided by Judi's excellent and clear instructions! Really hepful photos to support the instructions.
Despite not having done this before, I was very pleased with what I made and would recommend "having a play"!
Helpfully, Judi was able to supply materials which came quickly and helpfully bagged up to keep them safe.
Response from Felting in Devon:Dear Sarah
Many thanks for a wonderful morning...I have always been scared to try
anything creative, but you are a very encouraging teacher and allowed me
to make my own picture, whilst suggesting ways to move it along a bit! I
also really liked the fact I could take bits off if I didn’t like them!!
Response from Felting in Devon:Thank you. It was great meeting you both. On your anniversary, too. How lovely. You definitely have hidden talents- keep it up. Judi
We had a great time felting our wallhangings and banners for International Women's Day. A felt fiesta indeed for these French femmes.
C'est formidable-le feutrage !
Response from Felting in Devon:Merci beaucoup. Tu es très gentile.
Fantastic felting workshop.
Response from Felting in Devon:Thank you🥰
I had no idea what Nuno Felting was before this course...but now I do!
I have tried many crafts and really enjoyed this. It was great to try something completely different. Judi was completely engaged with her craft and very enthusiastic. The choice of materials was excellent and I look forward to wearing my finished piece. Many thanks, Judi
Response from Felting in Devon:Dear Lyn,
Nuno felting was an unknown craft to me before yesterday but I was soon swept away with the colours and textures of the wools and silk fibres and settled to design a scarf to suit me! Judi was funny, helpful and patient. She made it enjoyable and easy to follow, but shared her extensive knowledge. I had a totally absorbing and creative day. The scarf will be worn with pride. Thanks Judi.
Response from Felting in Devon:Martha, thank you for your kind review and I'm so pleased that nuno is no longer an unknown nuno!
This was my second course with Judi and I brought my friend along for a birthday treat. It was super to learn another felting skill - quite different from the landscape felting last time. The nuno involved more care in planning the design and choosing the colours as I wanted to make a scarf to complement my usual colours of outfits.
The actual process was quite technical because a scarf has to be well finished and made to last.
Judi kept us going with lots of coffee, cakes and a delicious home cooked lunch.
It was a very memorable day, as it was both fun and educational as well. Judi is an inspirational teacher and always helpful and quick to problem solve if there is a snag. It was a grand day. Thank you!
Response from Felting in Devon:Hi Emily,
Judi is a talented teacher with bags of patience and enthusiasm. I'd never felted before but she led me through all the stages and at the end of the session, I made and took home a surprisingly good painting to hang on my wall. Highly recommend this workshop to anyone.
Response from Felting in Devon:Hi Pippa,
What a delightful way to spend a Sunday morning! With clear and careful guidance Judi showed us how to lay out the first two base layers of our scarf and then to add a third design layer of silk scraps, bamboo silks and silk mawatas in contrasting colours. The colours were amazing and we were encouraged to try out our own ideas. We'd definitely like to do this as again and my wife who has reduced mobility is now wearing her very own nuno felted scarf. Judi is an inspirational teacher and nothing is too much trouble for her. Highly recommend this workshop.
Response from Felting in Devon:Dear Peter, I'm so glad you both enjoyed the workshop. It was lovely to meet you.
Terrific course. I now have my very own neckwarmer to wear! Thank you for your patient and expert tuition. I really enjoyed myself.
Response from Felting in Devon:Thank you! 😊
Would highly recommend to crafters at any level. Judi is an experienced and talented teacher. Everything was well prepared with a vast range of materials to choose from. She was encouraging at all stages of the process, which was so clearly explained (and backed up with handout), that I would feel confident about trying another neckwarmer at home. (Watch out relatives -guess what youll be getting next Xmas!) As for the neckwarmer that I made - I am delighted with the result, and had not expected to come away with something quite so beautiful....and professional looking😀 . Many, many thanks Judi, for such an enjoyable and productive morning!
Response from Felting in Devon:Dear Rose,
Booked a whole day workshop with Judi, first time doing any felting!
A lovely welcome when my friend and I arrived with a good explanation of how the day would go.
Then introduced to a 'sweet shop' of beautiful wools, silks, and other possible embellishments, almost too many to choose from.
Then off to the studio to start our practice piece, learning how to felt into the fine silk.
Then the fun of choosing colours for our finished scarves.
Judi is very knowledgeable, and encouraging. More work to do to finish our scarves at home, my goodness the day went quickly! A delicious lunch too!
A great day, would definitely recommend this workshop, thank you so much Judi.
Response from Felting in Devon:Dear Jan, Thank you so much - it was an absolute pleasure to show you some nuno felting techniques, with your natural artistry and skills. Please send photograph of fully finished scarf.
My sister booked this course as my birthday treat and it was a wonderful surprise. Judi laid on cakes and elderflower champagne and was a brilliant teacher in a well stocked studio. Had a fab time and will actually frame my painting on the wall. Would definitely recommend. Already signed up for the nuno silk scarf! Thank you. 👍
Response from Felting in Devon:It was great to meet you. Loved your picture. 😊
Had an amazing morning with Judi. She was so friendly and enthusiastic as a teacher. Everything was explained without overloading us. Her own art work is sublime. A very talented artist and tutor. I didn't dream I could create a painting in wool, but I did! Great workshop and fantastic value.
Response from Felting in Devon:Thank you. 😊
