Sarah B reviewed: Bottle Brooches - Craft Party - Group bookings only

"Wow fantastic :-) I booked this course for myself, sister and friend as presents. I had a query before booking it and was very impressed by the friendly prompt reply. On the course day Claire and Janet gave us a lovely welcome even though unfortunately we turned up late- so a great start. All instructions and information to make our brooches were clear and every step explained. Claire and Janet were supportive of our creative ideas for the brooches. They allowed us to experiment and happily aided when required, which for myself was quite frequent! After 2.30 hours, hot drinks and yummy cakes later, we left the art studio with 3 wonderful brooch creations that each of us felt proud to of made. Myself, sister and friend have done many craft experiences but we all agree this was far the best and we all loved our end "take home" crafts - a first for the 3 of us! We'll definitely be back to Fancy Tat for another craft experience. Thank you Claire and Janet, Sarah B"

"Lovely afternoon with Claire and Janet in their custom workshop cutting glass bottles and transforming them into something new. From one single bottle I made an egg cup, and two different storm lanterns. Their expert tuition made cutting wine bottles easy. Refreshments supplied as well. Would definitely recommend and hope to join some of their other workshops. "

"I loved every minute of this course! Our hosts were warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the training was clear and easy to understand. I’ve been trying (and failing) to cut glass for months now, and this course gave me the knowledge and confidence to launch my hobby. I’ve already bought the equipment I need and cut my first bottle on my own! I’ll definitely be back to try another craft. "

"This was a very enjoyable morning learning how to cut glass bottles. Janet and Claire were excellent teachers, showing us just what to do and with great patience and good humour. All the equipment needed to learn the technique was provided, and the workshop took place in a well appointed cabin and with all necessary facilities. We got to make lots of items, including taking away a lovely storm lantern that now looks great in the garden in the evening. Particular thanks to Claire for taking the time to help me cut a very thick gin bottle, even though she was recovering from a recent operation. Thank you Janet and Claire for a very enjoyable course!"

"A really great experience. I had tried to cut bottles by myself with no luck. Now I can do it. It was a hands on course and as with any craft practise makes perfect, or at least I'm hoping it will!. Janet is lovely, inspiring and encouraging. If you are tempted it's worth it."

Nikki Denning reviewed: Beeswax Wraps - Craft Party - Group bookings only

"We had such an enjoyable morning with Claire & Janet. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the craft room was beautiful. It was very relaxed, we had much laughter and chatter and music played whilst we made our wonderful aromatic bees wax wraps. During our tea break we were treated to delicious cakes and they even let us take home the ones we couldn't eat during the session. It was thoroughly enjoyable and we came away with some very useful wraps. They even allowed us to bring Pompom the Pomeranian who sat very quietly in the craft room. We would highly recommend this workshop, nice and chilled and a real treat! "

"We really enjoyed the glass bottle cutting workshop today. Janet and Claire are both excellent tutors, very patient and eager to ensure everyone gets the best out of the day. It feels amazing when your first bottle accurately breaks apart and everyone cheered when it happened! We are so pleased with the glasses we made and these will be well used. All in all, the day was very relaxing, informative, well organized and enjoyable. Thankyou Janet and Claire!"

"Booked this as surprise for my best friends birthday. Ended up only being the two of us so was fortunate enough to have exclusive help from Janet and Claire who were brilliant all the way through. Both very kind and helpful with anything you needed assistance with. We both walked away smiling and a new skill to play with. Would totally recommend to anyone who wants to learn something new and interesting. We both left with beautiful pieces which can easily be given as thoughtful gifts. Who doesn’t love anything hand made. Would definitely attend more classes in the future. Thank you Claire and Janet."

"A lovely afternoon spent on this course with my friend and brother in law, we had a fantastic time and made 5 pieces during the 3 hours including a storm lantern. Claire and Janet supplied us with a great choice of different bottles that we could select for our projects. It was set at the right pace and was a craft that I could continue with at home with only a few tools."

"Spent a most enjoyable afternoon learning how to cut bottles into tumblers, make a storm lantern and vases. Claire and Janet are so helpful and informative. There was plenty of tea and biscuits and the small group meant we all got individual attention. This was just what I wanted to learn to incorporate even more recycled makes into my own workshops, highly recommend."

"Had a really enjoyable Sunday afternoon on this course. Very clear instruction, plenty of equipment and tea and biscuits along the way. We made vases, tumblers, branded glasses and some smaller pots I'll use in my bathroom. They also provide the base to make a storm lamp for the garden. We opted to buy the glass cutting equipment so we can practise at home. If you do this they supply at a discounted rate from what you would get at traditional retail. Recommended to all!!"
