"I did this course in January, I had never done any glass craft before. Melanie Louise showed us how to cut the glass and how to use the various techniques to decorate our pieces. There were 9 people on the course so Melanie Louise was able to spend lots of time with each of us helping and advising. We made a coaster, drop bowl, star and jewellery. It was exciting waiting to see what our work would look like after the firing so it was good to see our work on the FB as it came out of the kiln and even more exciting when it arrived at my house in the post. I was very pleased with my pieces. It was a very enjoyable day and the lunch in a local restaurant was really good too"

"Having never done a craft course or worked with felt before i did a day course with crafts in the Valley rather hesitantly. Melanie put me completely at ease and i overcame any shyness or self doubts really quickly. Mel is a fantastic, warm, engaging and friendly teacher. I felt completely included and at ease with the other women in the group. I enjoyed felting and found myself inspired and absorbed in the work. I am really proud of the piece i made and got a lot out of the whole day. I felt looked after and nurtured, I learnt a lot, met nice people, ate good food and laughed. My felted picture is now in a frame at home and i am happy to think i made it :) I wouldn't hesitate to go on another course and would completely recommend to anyone considering trying it."

"I had a really enjoyable day and learned how to wet and dry felt and freehand sew. Melanie was very informative and was able to help everyone individually, where needed. There was also very tasty food and drink provided at the cafe."

"I really enjoyed this workshop. Mel explained everything clearly and took the time to speak to all the participants offering advice and suggestions. There were drinks and pastries/biscuits accessible at all times and the lunch at a local cafe was very pleasant, followed by afternoon snack of chocolate cake with fresh strawberries. Lovely. Throughout the day Mel made sure that we were all happy with her instructions, and was on hand to make sure we understood what we were doing, and why. We all came away proudly clutching our own pieces of art."

"We had a fabulous day with Melanie. She is a very good tutor and we made lots of items on the day. I made a coaster, a dish, a star, a pendant and earings and decorated a small box. All the materials were included as were drinks, snacks and lunch. Melanie managed to get round the group and give loads of help and support. Treat yourself and get booked on the next course."

"I can't recommend Melanie's workshops onboard the lovely Crafty Snail narrowboat highly enough! I have taken her workshops in both felting (with a friend) and mosaics (with my husband) and have all thoroughly enjoyed them, coming home at the end of each day with pieces of art we were proud to put up on the wall despite being complete beginners. Melanie herself is a fantastic teacher and a pleasure to spend time with and the workshops are incredibly good value, especially when you consider the lovely lunch, drinks and snacks included. Treat yourself or someone you love to a relaxing crafty day in beautiful, unique surroundings now!"

"Having attended 2 felt crafty days, I would highly recommend Melanie's workshops. I was a complete beginner and came home with 2 felt pictures, having been guided carefully at each stage of creating the natural world scenes from scratch. It was great to have a very small group on board the Crafty Snail, with plenty of room to work despite the narrow space, and a lovely choice of materials to choose from. The supply of warm drinks and goodies to nibble on helped the concentration, whilst the woodburning stove kept us cosy. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Olive Branch during lunchtime before returning to find our pictures ready for the next stage of creation. I found both occasions full of inspiration and they built my confidence in art and craft."
