Adele Dennis reviewed: Crochet Shawl

"I attended a workshop to create a crocheted shawl. It was a lovely afternoon with like minded ladies who help and encourage each other in a safe and welcoming environment. Natalie our tutor was amazing as always. The pattern was gorgeous and the yarn was sooooo squishy and lovely with great colours to choose from. I went away with more yarn and have made a second one. I would totally recommend CLPs workshops."

Elaine R reviewed: Crochet Shawl

"Thank you for a lovely afternoon learning my new crochet skills. In a superb setting. I have only been learning for about 4 weeks and with the help of Natalie and all the other lovely ladies I was able to achieve producing the beginning of the this ingenious shawl pattern. I am looking forward to continuing making this and have now got the understanding of reading a pattern too. I will be looking out for future courses to take part in. Thank you so much for your help, time, patience, beautiful yarn and company."

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"Hi Elaine, thank you for your lovely review. It was a real pleasure to meet you, and it makes me very happy that your first experience with us was such a positive one. I look forward to seeing you again for another workshop, course or drop-in! Enjoy making the rest of your shawl, and I'll be in touch when the rest of the yarn arrives - Eliz :-) "

Jenny Humphreys reviewed: Bargello Needlepoint Workshop

"I really enjoyed the Bargello with Nerrisa Pratt. She made us smile and laugh whilst keeping us learning about a new craft. She made sure that we all had the right materials to complete the wall hanging we started in the class. She gave us hacks to help us thread needles easily and good advice on the amount of thread to work with. We had a good choice of thread to use, from a recognisable brand. She also talked about starting small businesses and used IT links to show us more information . I’m half way through my project and looking forward to posting a picture on the CLP Facebook page. Thank you CLP for running such good courses at your pleasant venue at St Martins. "

Maria reviewed: Bargello Needlepoint Workshop

"I was made to feel very welcome and the tutor was very knowledgeable about her craft. We began on a small sampler first to try out some stitches and began on the main wall hanging so we knew what we were going to complete at home. All materials were supplied and to take home also. I would be more than happy to recommend this workshop to others."

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"Maria, I'm so pleased you enjoyed the workshop and got to practise on a sampler before going 'live' on your wall hanging. I look forward to seeing your finished project! Eliz:-) "

Fay Thomson reviewed: Bargello Needlepoint Workshop

"I really enjoyed Nerrisa’s Borgello course. She was so patient and knowledgeable. I was greatly encouraged during the course and although I realise I can’t count, I am progressing with my work. I hope to finish soon. Watch this space. "

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"Hi Fay, thank you for your review, and I'm so pleased you found Nerrisa to be an excellent tutor. As for not being able to count - that wouldn't be anything to do with chatting would it? lol....the same happens to me with crochet!! I look forward to seeing your finished piece - Eliz :-) "

Nicola reviewed: Bargello Needlepoint Workshop

"I recently went on a 3-hour workshop to learn "Bargello", an ancient type of weaving originating from Florence. The instructor, Nerrisa, was brilliant in explaining everything to get us started and she told us we would become addicted to this craft - and it's true! It's fun and easy to grasp and with a variety of patterns to choose from you can set the difficulty level yourself. The time whizzed past and I really enjoyed learning something new."

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"This was our first time running a Bargello workshop, and I've a feeling it won't be our last as I've received such good feedback from the group, and Nerrisa is such a lovely person and tutor. Thank you for your review :-)"

Christine Wyard reviewed: Social Media Content

"I was not very happy that we did not have an overhead projector which was really important for the lessons"

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"Hi Christine - thanks for your feedback. The projector was working, but the tutor experienced a fault on his HDMI port. We've successfully tested it with one of our own laptops, so it will be in operation for the rest of the course :-) "

Teresa Newcombe reviewed: Watercolour Course online + kit

"Hubby and I really enjoyed this session. The time flew by and we are amazed how much was covered despite having to do induction. The paper and paints provided are top quality. Natalie is an excellent and patient tutor. The pack is inspiring and I feel excited and motivated to find time to practice before the next session!"

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"I'm so pleased you both enjoyed your first session so much! Induction is a necessity on the HAFLS courses as they are funded by the ESFA, but we hope it helps to make sure the courses are fully inclusive. Imagine how much more time you'll have to paint next week! Natalie is, indeed, an inspiration and I look forward to seeing your artwork as the course progresses. If you haven't already, do join us on our FaceBook group, CLP Mixed Media Art, as there are more opportunities to be inspired and to share - Eliz :-)"

"Really enjoyed the first session with Natalie- looking forward to the next! I learnt techniques that I’d no previous idea about! I also felt more confident at the end of the session due to Natalie’s encouragement and teaching . Thank you"

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your first session, Kathryn, especially as so much of the first week is taken up with induction etc! If you've learned new techniques in week 1, just think of all that you will go on to achieve by week 10! Natalie is very talented herself, and a really good teacher who inspires everybody in her classes. I look forward to seeing your artwork in due course! Eliz :-)"

Heidi Barker reviewed: Knitting sock workshop

"I really enjoyed this course, it was challenging but very rewarding. I have completed my pair of baby socks and with my new sock wool from CLP I’m ready to start a pair of adult socks. Great teaching from Monica and a lovely environment and people at CLP x"

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"Heidi, I totally agree with you. It required a lot of concentration and it took me all day, a little of Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon to finish just one sock!! But I couldn't be prouder, and I'm looking forward to having a go at a 'big foot' sock next. I have heard tell that sock-knitting is highly-addictive, and I can believe it. Thanks for coming xx"

"I have wanted to do a lettering course for a couple of years now and I'm so glad that I went on this one with Suzie! She was so helpful and down to earth and I loved every second of it. The workshop went really quickly and didn't want it to end. I would love to do another workshop with Suzie if any other courses arose (such as Christmas themed or another themed event)."

Katy Williamson reviewed: Spring Cushion Crochet Workshop

"A lovely way to spend a Saturday in the company of like-minded people while learning new skills. I liked the way that everyone could choose their own colour choices of wool and we were free to progress at our own pace, so as not to keep faster stitchers getting fed up or slower ones panicking that they couldn't keep up. Coffee, croissants and chocolate cake were all enticing bonuses too. I'd definitely return."

Sarah is very experienced and her patience has helped me improve my skills immensely. Each week we have a new project, learning pattern reading, using different types of yarn and techniques. Julie Scales reviewed: Spring Cushion Crochet Workshop

"This course is great. I moved on to this from a beginners 10week course. The tutor Sarah is showing us how to do something different each week eg. a new stitch or pattern, how to join squares, creating a border around your work. We have new projects galore to then work on at home. Would recommend this course."
