Hubby and I really enjoyed this session. The time flew by and we are amazed how much was covered despite having to do induction. The paper and paints provided are top quality. Natalie is an excellent and patient tutor. The pack is inspiring and I feel excited and motivated to find time to practice before the next session!
Response from Community Learning Partnership:I'm so pleased you both enjoyed your first session so much! Induction is a necessity on the HAFLS courses as they are funded by the ESFA, but we hope it helps to make sure the courses are fully inclusive. Imagine how much more time you'll have to paint next week! Natalie is, indeed, an inspiration and I look forward to seeing your artwork as the course progresses. If you haven't already, do join us on our FaceBook group, CLP Mixed Media Art, as there are more opportunities to be inspired and to share - Eliz :-)
Really enjoyed the first session with Natalie- looking forward to the next!
I learnt techniques that I’d no previous idea about!
I also felt more confident at the end of the session due to Natalie’s encouragement and teaching .
Response from Community Learning Partnership:I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your first session, Kathryn, especially as so much of the first week is taken up with induction etc! If you've learned new techniques in week 1, just think of all that you will go on to achieve by week 10! Natalie is very talented herself, and a really good teacher who inspires everybody in her classes. I look forward to seeing your artwork in due course! Eliz :-)
I thoroughly enjoyed the one day sock knitting course last w/e. I made a 2 colour baby sock following the the pattern & using the lovely soft yarn Monica provided. Having never made socks before it was great to have her on hand for tips on how to turn the heel & not have any gaps.
I highly recommend this course & feel ready to attempt adult socks & Christmas stockings!
I really enjoyed this course, it was challenging but very rewarding. I have completed my pair of baby socks and with my new sock wool from CLP I’m ready to start a pair of adult socks. Great teaching from Monica and a lovely environment and people at CLP x
Response from Community Learning Partnership:Heidi, I totally agree with you. It required a lot of concentration and it took me all day, a little of Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon to finish just one sock!! But I couldn't be prouder, and I'm looking forward to having a go at a 'big foot' sock next. I have heard tell that sock-knitting is highly-addictive, and I can believe it. Thanks for coming xx
Had a very enjoyable day with group of varied abilities. All equipment supplied, sock made. Ways forward discussed. Completed small sock in 2 colours which covered the basics of sock knitting. Looking forward to next steps.
Response from Community Learning Partnership:Kerry, I'm looking forward to my next STEPS too haha!! Now we've learned the technique, I think it will be less fiddly when we move on to big feet. Well done :-)
I really enjoyed this workshop everything was explained clearly and the tutor took time time to help everybody as they needed. This course has sparked my interest in sock knitting and i hope to carry on with sock knitting using the material provided
Response from Community Learning Partnership:Glad you enjoyed it, Michele! 😀
I have wanted to do a lettering course for a couple of years now and I'm so glad that I went on this one with Suzie! She was so helpful and down to earth and I loved every second of it. The workshop went really quickly and didn't want it to end. I would love to do another workshop with Suzie if any other courses arose (such as Christmas themed or another themed event).
Loved every minute of it. Enjoyed learning new skills. Sarah is a wonderful teacher and so patient. Lovely atmosphere created by Eliz and CLP and all the learners. I surprised myself that I could create something beautiful after only just beginning crochet recently. Thank you so much.
I really loved taking part in this course, the tutor Sarah was amazing and explained how to do the pattern when I got stuck. She's very patient, and able to go at all paces.
I joined as part of the BBO project to help me get out and be around people, the group was small of all different levels.
Would highly recommend.
I went on the course as part of the bbo project, to help me get out and meeting people. I really enjoyed the project and actually did a proper c2c 🤗🤗 I would definitely recommend any of these courses.
A lovely way to spend a Saturday in the company of like-minded people while learning new skills. I liked the way that everyone could choose their own colour choices of wool and we were free to progress at our own pace, so as not to keep faster stitchers getting fed up or slower ones panicking that they couldn't keep up. Coffee, croissants and chocolate cake were all enticing bonuses too. I'd definitely return.
After completing a beginner course in crochet I was delighted to join this course. It’s a lovely relaxing atmosphere with a small group. Sarah is very experienced and her patience has helped me improve my skills immensely. Each week we have a new project, learning pattern reading, using different types of yarn and techniques. The group is very friendly and I have made some lovely friends. Crochet, chat , tea and cake, what more could you ask for for a perfect afternoon!
Really enjoyed this project. The cushion involves various stitches; double trebles, clusters, corner 2 corner, doubles, joining etc. The finished product is very effective and makes a lovely spring cushion. I especially enjoyed making the daisies!
This course is great. I moved on to this from a beginners 10week course. The tutor Sarah is showing us how to do something different each week eg. a new stitch or pattern, how to join squares, creating a border around your work. We have new projects galore to then work on at home. Would recommend this course.
I would highly recommend this course, Eliz is a great teacher, very patient and the course is great fun. This has really built up my confidence in my crochet skills. I look forward to the next one.
Thoroughly enjoyable. Great guidance from a lovely tutor.
It's nice to spend time with like minded people and all the ladies on the course were excellent fun to learn with too!
It was so nice to be a part of this group and be able to get into the Christmas spirit with the course. Not only do you have a fantastic tutor to guide you all the way you also have an amazing group of people with the same interest and hobby as you. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who loves to crochet and wants to broaden their skills
Loved the course. I learnt lot while having fun and relaxing time with my crochet friends. Great support, help, lovely cakes, biscuits, coffees and tees. I didnt want it to finish!!!
This is a fantastic course,it teaches you new skills and techniques which enable you to produce a great Christmas item. Eliz and her team give you confidence and the ability to move on to individual projects. They provide a lovely atmosphere to learn in. The courses they run are always enjoyable and make you want to further your learning.
I enjoyed making the Christmas stocking as although I could crochet I had never learned to read a crochet pattern so this was my first project that I made by using and reading a pattern, thank you for being patient.
