"I've been taking this course for eight weeks now and can thoroughly recommend it. I dabbled a little in painting/drawing before but never really got anywhere because I didn't really know where or how to start. The instruction in this course is second to none, and I love the fact that we are able to work with such a wide range of subjects and materials. I've tackled projects that I never would have dreamed of attempting before and have been encouraged all the way be Inge and Renee. I absolutely love my Wednesday mornings."

"As a busy, working Mum of 3 I have always wanted to get back into Art (it was my favourite subject at school). Over the last few years I have tried a few times to pick up a pencil/brush but just lacked the motivation, time and confidence. I am now 8 weeks into my first Colourwheel course and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Both Inge and Rene are friendly, inspiring, encouraging, welcoming and great teachers. They make suggestions, but always allow you to have freedom over your Artwork which is great. I have learnt so much already and re-found my passion. Its an amazing feeling, to turn off your mobile, forget your worries and paint/draw for 3 hours. I'm completely hooked! I would absolutely recommend this course for anyone looking to begin in Art, or someone like me who has a little experience but wants to improve. Thankyou Colourwheel"

"I've attended this wonderful class for several years and missed it so much during lock down. It's attended by friendly like minded people, at various skill levels. I always learn something new from the talented tutor and the time flies by. It's extremely well organised by the fabulous Rene who thinks of everything so that the class runs smoothly. I can highly recommend the class."

"I have been attending this course for many years, so I can certainly recommend it. Returners are welcome - the media repeat but the exercises change. Rene does an excellent job of organising the course and along with teacher Inge, makes everyone feel most welcome. The atmosphere is very friendly and I have made many friends over the years. The venue is super with great parking and access. I use a wheelchair and it is very well set up for wheelchair users. Each week's class includes comprehensive notes sent by email beforehand, which one can read or not. It doesn't matter because Inge talks the class through the exercises and does demonstrations at key points. It is a relaxed and comfortable learning environment!"

"I joined Colourwheel in 2017 having decided in my retirement that I wanted to get back to doing art (having given it up at school at the age of 14) and this class sounded just right. I was proved entirely correct in my assumption. The course, the organisation and the tutors are all excellent. Many art classes require you to provide your own materials but Colourwheel provides them. Quite a big bonus, I’d say. I can't think of a better way of relaxing for 3 hours on a morning or afternoon irrespective of whether you produce a masterpiece at the end of it or not. You may well surprise yourself and discover a hidden talent. It's the enjoyment and total absorption I experience when I'm in the class that to me is priceless. Give it a go. I'm sure you won't be disappointed."

"A superb course covering a range of media and projects. I have been attending since January 2018 and always learn something new every week. In my view this is one of the best classes in the area, enjoyable, inspiring and a brilliant way to spend a morning."

"In an ever-increasing world of busyness, where there is always something or someone requiring our attention. Our ColourWheel classes for me are like an oasis in the desert and a time where I can enjoy ‘time out’ to be by myself and with others at the same time. Enjoying three calm and creative hours, uninterrupted by the world outside our room at the Royal Windsor Racecourse is an absolute treat, which I look forward to each week, as soon as I leave that room! I only remarked a couple of weeks ago how well Rene and Erica work together as both colleagues and friends, which sets the tone for the friendly atmosphere we enjoy every week. Each week we learn a new painting skill with Erica and from Inge’s paintings in another group too. Erica works with us at a pace that works for all and each week I come away feeling happy, with learning something new, in a pleasant setting and having really enjoyed my ‘time out’. On a practical note, Rene sets all our necessary ‘tools’ out for us each week, so we don’t have to remember anything other than any tools we are provided with and of course ‘ourselves’! We also have a little refreshment break, where we can catch up with one another. I can highly recommend these wonderful classes to anyone and at any level. Caroline Butlin – Windsor Group"

"I had wanted to learn to draw and paint for years. I had tried other classes but they lacked the planning and clear explanation needed for progress. I enrolled with ColourWheel classes in September 2017 and am now beginning my 12th term! What began as a “lesson with other people” has developed into an enjoyable art class with an atmosphere that is relaxed, friendly and supportive. We meet in a lovely light venue overlooking the racecourse. Each term affords us a varied syllabus in a range of media which gives us new skills to develop our own style. I have learned to really look at what I see; to observe carefully – be it skin tones, shadows, highlights, perspective and more. We are lucky to have a super talented teacher, Erica, who explains and clearly demonstrates the task. She never criticises, only suggests and encourages to build our confidence. Classes are so well organised. Rene has everything set out for our lesson before we arrive. Paper, pencils, paints…nothing is missing and, she is ready with whatever we need before we even ask! All we have to do… is enjoy our very sociable art class."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed every course I have attended. I have completed twelve terms. Prior to joining the course I always favoured water colours. I have learnt how to use so many different mediums and techniques to get their best effect. Acrylics, Ink, Soft Pastels , Pencils, Coloured Pencils, Charcoal and Analinky Paints. The couse covers so many different subjects. It is a fantastic course. Teaching is excellent Inge is very knowledgeable and will help you with your artwork. Rene's organisation skills are second to none. Both Rene and Inge are kind, compassionate nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel at ease. The atmosphere of the class is friendly and relaxed. I have made some great friends. I look forward each week to a calm three hour session. The venues are great. Very easy parking and comfortable surroundings. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this course."

I found the class very inspirational and really enjoyed learning new techniques which were clearly explained and demonstrated by the tutor. The class is so well organised by Rene, who made me feel very welcome right from the start. I can’t wait to attend again next term."

"The ColourWheel Art classes in Windsor, facilitated by Rene and lead/tutored by Erica, are excellent. I have completed four terms and thoroughly enjoy every week, learning new skills and techniques as the course progresses. Erica is a brilliant artist and a patient, fun teacher, guiding the class through each stage, providing excellent demonstrations and individual helpful advice. She is very encouraging and patient and enables everyone to achieve amazing artwork at their own pace each week. The classes are very well organised, with all the materials provided. Windsor Racecourse is an excellent venue, the rooms are spacious and light and the atmosphere during the classes is friendly and fun. I can't recommend the ColourWheel art class highly enough."

"The last time I did art was about 10 years ago at school so this is my first time getting back into it since school. This class gives a wonderful chance to try out different media every week so you're always trying something new. I recommend this class to anyone who has an interest in drawing, doesn't matter what level of experience you are. These classes have reignited my love of art & drawing!"

"I attended my first course last September 2019. This was my first venture back into art for about 20 years. The class was welcoming and very well organised by Rene. Everything was provided and taken care of at the end of the class. Inge taught us step by step, which was very helpful and was encouraging throughout. Most classes I have attended classes back in the past, have always made an assumption of prior knowledge. This class managed to differentiate between those of us who required going back to basics and those who were very advanced. The provision of materials takes away the issue of always needing the right tools for the sessions and provided lessons which started with basic drawing then going through most mediums. This made this course an absolute pleasure. I started to feel I could tackle projects at home and have every intention of re-joining a class this year. I cannot recommend Colour Wheel more highly."

"I would recommend this course to anyone. Whatever your ability you will be made to feel at home. I love the fact that over the 14 weeks there is an opportunity to learn new skills and learn about different types of media. Most other courses just focus on one. Rene is brilliant at keeping it all together and Inge is inspirational as the tutor. There is great camaraderie within the group and everyone is supportive of each other. I am so pleased to be part of this experience and will book up for another course in the Autumn. Robin"

"It was truly by chance and total curiosity that I and a friend came across ColourWheel. The reception we received was with a warm and inviting smile and we immediately were made most welcome. It was a natural step then that I joined. This is now my 2nd year, and every week I can't wait to come to our class - the 3 hours go by so quickly!!! Renee is a fantastic organiser, always friendly and helpful and is right beside you to give you what you need even before you know yourself what you need! My teacher is Inge - what a teacher she is - wow!! Always encouraging, always seeing the artist in you and never lets you think your work is "rubbish". All the other students - many of them so much more advanced in talent - are also most encouraging of each other's work making the class more like a "family and friends" gathering. I would certainly encourage anyone who wants to start, or improve, or continue to draw or paint to join ColourWheel - I have tried quite a few before, but ColourWheel is the one. As well - you get all the materials / everything supplied - all you need to bring is just yourself. What a treat!"

"I received this 14-week course as a Christmas present and it was one of the best presents I have ever had. There is no better way to learn to be mindful than have chance to sit quietly in a comfortable room with everything you need in front of you, forget your troubles and concentrate on learning a brilliant new skill. The teaching is first class - in fact our tutor is in the current 'Portrait Painter of the Year' series on TV. She is kind, patient and extremely talented. The classes are incredibly well organised. Each week we receive an email with exactly what we will be covering and some tips in case we want to try the week's technique before class. Most of us don't! But it's fun to learn together and everything we could possibly need is provided. In fact in the first week I did buy a starter pack so that I also have everything at home, and I have enjoyed a couple of practice sessions after each class - I find myself really wanting to do more. Everyone in the group is supportive, encouraging and it's fascinating how we all interpret each subject slightly differently. I have made a few new friends and look forward to continuing."

"This is a fantastic course and led by lovely and talented people. I started just under a year ago having never drawn anything other than stick men and now I am drawing and painting quite confidently and feel utterly inspired. Both the teachers in Maidenhead and Windsor are patient, technically fantastic and have helped me see more in our beautiful world! The course involves working with all media so while building skills, you also put your toe into the water with so many different mediums. As a result of working with Inge, I am going on very first art weekend in May. I am very grateful that I found the Colourwheel. Oh, and did I say, the other people on the course are lovely too!"

"I was totally new to drawing and painting. Outstanding teachers break down the techniques into simple steps, make it fun, and support learning with gentle positive encouragement. I thought that I would try art for one term, I'm now in my 3rd year with Colour Wheel! My friends and family love seeing what I draw and paint. Excellent"

"The most amazing classes. Windsor race course is an excellent venue, with plenty of natural light, and a nice airy room. Well structured classes, covering so many different media: from pencil, charcoal and pastel to watercolour, collage, acrylic, gouash, coloured inks and even Lino cutting! All materials are provided, so you just turn up, and you can’t forget anything! Three hours is just the right time to complete a piece of work, and I love the warm up drawings/fun we sometimes have at the beginning of class. The teacher ( Erica ) is such a talented teacher, it doesn’t matter whether you are a complete beginner or you’ve been painting for years, as she is able to help and offer advice at any level, appropriate to the student. Also tea, coffee and biscuits are provided at a very small cost, if you feel like you need a break and a chat, with a fellow First class ❤️"

"As an absolute novice who hasn’t done any art since the age of 13 (and many years have since passed) I nearly didn’t go to the taster class. I did go though, and I loved it! I couldn’t wait to start the course, the ability to get such guidance that you produce a finished picture each week, is so rewarding. Combined with an opportunity to try a range of mediums to see what suits you best, is a real opportunity. However, the biggest joy comes from the friendly, encouraging and fun filled classes that just makes me count the days until the next class! What I thought would be far out of my comfort zone is actually giving me a new found love and confidence. I would highly recommend it!"

"I have been attending the Colourwheel course for quite a few years now having not done any art since school. Both Erica and Inge are great teachers and everything is expertly organised by Rene. It's also fantastic that the course in Maidenhead is run at Norden Farm or Sportsable - two great charities so good to give money to these worthwhile causes. All materials are supplied on the course so you just need to turn up. You get to create your art using a variety of mediums eg pencil, coloured pencil, charcoal, ink, lino printing, brusho, watercolour, acrylic and even collage. Other students are very encouraging and now friends outside of the course. The course takes you away from your everyday worries for 3 hours and I look forward each week to the new challenges set for us."
