Rob Bartlett reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"This course is absolutely brilliant. Angie, Steve and Chris are so welcoming and they really put you at ease straight away. The course itself was superb, loads of hands on and we made lots of glasswork to keep as a mementos of a great day. Steve and Chris are incredibly patient and great teachers. Their skills are second to none and they passed on this knowledge and I definitely improved as the course went on (who knew I could make a glass swan!) it was really good fun, informative and safe. I would strongly recommend the course to anyone of any ability, it is so good and Steve and Chris will guide you all the way. Thank you for an absolutely excellent time."

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much Rob for your lovely Review, it was a pleasure to meet you and Steve said you were a pleasure to teach. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us, and hope we see you again. Kind regards Angie, Steve & Chris"

Jordan reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"So much fun! Angie was so friendly and welcoming and Steve and Chris are clearly experts at what they do and really excellent teachers. In just 3 hours we felt like we learned and improved so much, and as soon as we left we were already discussing coming back for another session. Great value for money considering the quality of hands-on teaching and the number of pieces we made, definitely recommend!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind review Jordan, the guys said you and Toby were a pleasure to teach. Lovely meeting you and hope to see you in the future."

Jess Hartley reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"Fantastic day! Steve and Chris were really engaging and very informative with their teachings. We did a half day course and we made 3 different vases and 2 paperweights. We're currently still waiting for our glass to arrive as it then takes a day to settle in the kiln. We very much enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this team if you're looking to try out glass blowing. It's very warm in the rooms so when you visit make sure to wear something cool. Additionally you will need to wipe clean soapy water on your leg when moulding the glass and therefore don't wear anything too precious or can be damaged by water! If you're not familiar with the area I would recommend Ring o'Bells Inn to stay at, it's only a 7 minute drive away. The area hasn't got the greatest Internet signal in the world so if you're using the satnav to get there just be aware. We used post code BS40 6HW. Parking on site is free, walk past the antiques shop and handmade glass is the last building on the right :) Hope we can visit again soon and maybe create a few more masterpieces!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for your comments Jess, we are so glad you enjoyed your time with us. Your glass is winging its way to you. Regards The team at Chew valley handmade glass"

Bronia Clarke reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"Glass blowing is something I have always wanted to try so when my friend gifted me a voucher I found this place and booked for the half day taster course for a few of us. I thought after training and demo we might make 2 pieces but I was pleasantly surprised to find that even with 4 of us it was so well organised that we got to make more and try far more techniques than I thought we would. We had the finished products sent to us. Booking, the day and receiving the items was all easy and seamless. Angie was very welcoming and Steve and Chris were very patient and made the day highly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Hi Bronia thank you so much for your kind review, it was a pleasure to meet you all. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us, apparently you were all a pleasure to teach. Regards The team at chew valley glass"

John Holmes reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"We had a late availability course with Steve and Angie, both myself a my wife thoroughly enjoyed the session. We made numerous items, some of which vaguely resembled the models we were copying. Even with the heat and closeness to the hot glass, we felt safe and that everything was in control. Would definitely recommend this for people that want to have a 'proper' experience!!!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for leaving your comments John, it was a pleasure to meet you both. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us. Regards Angie"

Rob reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"Bought as a gift for my partner, who loved it. Due to COVID, the only bit he couldn't do was blowing into the pipe - but that's a really minor part, so didn't detract from the experience. He brought home 5 pieces (which seems a lot more than other courses offer). Highly recommended!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you for your review Rob, so glad your partner enjoyed the course."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our half day glass blowing for 2 with Chew Valley glass. Steve and Chris were very friendly and accommodating, and did a great job in guiding us through the steps of glass blowing. We were given a choice over what item we made and a lot of freedom in the making process, all under the close guidance of Steve and Chris. It was a fantastic experience and we came away with a selection of very impressive items. Highly recommended."
