I loved the spoon forging course. Charlotte was very supportive and encouraging and clearly explained all the different skills required to make my silver spoon.
I did ache a little after the first day, as I’m not used to wielding a hammer, but it was great fun and Charlotte was with me every step of the process. I was amazed I managed to forge a beautiful and useable spoon from a relatively small ingot of silver in just two days. I have learned a lot of new skills and surprised myself. Charlotte is a great tutor, very friendly and thoughtful.

Thank you so much for your review, Jane. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the course, you did a great job and produced a lovely spoon. It was a pleasure to welcome you to the workshop.Charlotte is a good, calm and encouraging tutor. The process is quite slow and steady with some wonky moments but help is always there. It was really satisfying seeing my bowl steadily appear. Very enjoyable.
Thank you

You're very welcome, Steve, thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the course and your stay in Sheffield. It was a pleasure to welcome you to the workshop. This is a really great course. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Charlotte takes you through each stage by a demo and then you work though each stage yourself. Definitely the best way to learn so nothing is rushed and you have the time to take it all it. There is quite a bit of hammer work on the first day so you'll feel your arm muscles after the first day but nothing to worry about. Charlotte is very patient and very experienced so able to clearly explain each stage which really helped. The workshop atmosphere is great and helped by the small group numbers. I can really recommend this course I learn't loads and would happily go on another of Charlotte's courses. Best of all you walk out with a lovely silver spoon all hard forged by your own hands. I'll be using my silver spoon to eat copious amounts of ICE CREAM :-)
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this course. Great company, friendly atmosphere and well instructed by a very talented and knowledgeable artist / craftswoman, Charlotte guided me through every stage of the process from flat disk of copper to shiny bowl. Providing insight and tips in a very relaxed and informal environment, I felt in good hands.
At the end of the 2 day course I was happy and proud of what I had produced and is now displayed at home. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone.
Thank you Charlotte.

Thank you for such a great review Isaac. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time on the course. It was a pleasure to welcome you to the workshop.Charlotte gave us just the right balance of demonstrating the techniques of raising and letting us raise our own pieces
There was always plenty of help or assistance when needed and overall I came away with much more confidence in knowing the techniques as well as a renewed enthusiasm for silversmithing
I would recommend this course for all from beginners to those with some previous experience

Thank you for your lovely review Julian.I loved this course it was brilliant. If you're interested in raising then this is the course for you. Charlotte was patient and great at explaining the concepts. Better than that though is she took the time to walk us through each stage and then kept an eye on us to make sure we didn't mess up. Its a great way to learn and really absorb the theory as well as the practical aspects. You can't learn this from a book and this is the best way to learn it. We were also able to go at our own pace without disrupting the other person on the course. Its basically one to one tuition and well worth the money. Be prepared for a bit of a workout but nothing you won't get the hang of. Best of all Charlotte is very very experienced so able to answer all your questions. I came away with a lovely tumbler at the end. Go for it you won't regret it.

Charlotte’s patience and knowledge meant that I had a wonderful 2 days immersing myself in the copper bowl raising class. It was hard work, for sure, but very rewarding, and I love my bowl .
I would wholeheartedly recommend this course.
Thank you Charlotte
Fantastic weekend, Charlotte was so patient and encouraging throughout both days. Have a wonderful copper bowl and lots of new skills.
We did this course as part of our Silver Wedding anniversary celebration. It was a great couple of days and we managed to produce a unique silver spoon each for us to remember our anniversary by plus having a nice weekend in Sheffield.
Charlotte is a great teacher balancing out letting us discover how to work the metal and helping us as we went through the process.
We both feel like we really learnt a lot and would recommend the course to anyone.
This is a brilliant course that has a perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness that made it a joy to be on. I learned so much in just 3 days and the end result has had a huge amount of admiration at home! The location is perfect for travelling and accommodation. I couldn’t fault any aspect of the course and strongly recommend it.
I had an extremely enjoyable 2 days with Charlotte. She guided me through the full process in a way only a true expert could, whilst ensuring the finished bowel was all my own work. This was a great experience, fun, interesting and productive leaving an immense sense of achievement.
This was my second course with Charlotte and, as with the first it was very enjoyable. The various processes involved in raising the silver tumbler and working with the silver were very clearly explained and demonstrated. I am very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to experience working with silver.
I really enjoyed the course and am very pleased with the finished bowl. Charlotte explained and demonstrated all the various processes involved in a clear and very understandable way. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to try working with copper and achieve a wonderful bowl that you can be proud of.
This is the second weekend course I have attended at Charlotte’s studio and I enjoyed it just as much as the first.
Charlotte is an excellent tutor fully explaining all the processes involved and the use of all the tools and equipment before letting you get on with it.
I was very pleased with how my copper bowl turned out and can thoroughly recommend these courses .
You’ll have a great time

This was my first experience of making anything since school, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Charlotte was a great tutor, friendly and not at all intimidating. She gave the right level of guidance and then allowed us to get on with the task, offering help where necessary. It was also a privilege to watch her at work. I was surprised how good the copper bowl looked by the end of the second day. I'd definitely recommend the experience to others.
This course was perfect to work through the process of raising a piece of silver.
I had experience of making jewellery in silver but none of the specific skills of silver smithing. I have read how to raise a piece of silver but felt I needed a dedicated course to work though the process. This course was just what I was looking for.
Charlotte is a very good tutor, with clear demonstrations on what to do and providing clear advice and guidance as we worked our own piece.
The whole experience was very enjoyable as well as educational and I came away with my own worked silver cup, which I'm really pleased with.
Really enjoyed the course. Small group and great atmosphere. It was amazing to take the decorations from start to finish. Would highly recommend and would love to do it again and make more decorations for my Christmas tree.
I was given this course as a Birthday present and I did't really know what to expect but I really enjoyed the course. Charlotte was very welcoming and the studio was a lovely place to work. I usually think of myself as being terrible at craft, but despite this I managed to make two beautiful decorations which I was very proud of. I would love to do another of these courses - it was a really lovely day.
What a fantastic day. My granddaughter and I had a wonderful day working with Charlotte. Charlotte was patient with us, as we learnt to use the tools to make our Christmas decorations. When ever we needed help and advice she was there and encouraged us throughout the day. The finished decorations look amazing and this is down to Charlotte’s wonderful instructions and encouragement. Tea, coffee and biscuits are readily available throughout the course.
My granddaughter has already insisted that this becomes part of our annual Christmas preparations. Having seen the finished pieces and listening to us talk about what a wonderful time we had, my daughter wants to join us.
If you only book one craft course a year make it one with Charlotte.
