"I have attended two of Caryl's courses - Making Christmas decorations and Creating a leaded panel. Both courses far exceeded my expectations. Caryl is not only an amazing artist but an inspirational, patient and considerate teacher. Her courses are meticulously planned so that participants feel success at every stage. Caryl gives just the right amount of support to give you the confidence to try things out and feel a sense of personal achievement. Each course produces something of a high quality that is personal to the maker. My Christmas robin and star will be brought out every yea,r and my panel has taken pride of place in my home. I would highly recommended both courses to anyone thinking of trying something different and enjoyable. Oh, and an extra bonus, the lunch is lovely, and tea and biscuits plentiful."

Caryl Hallett Stained Glass responded:

"Thank you Stasia. Very kind of you to take the time and effort to post this. Caryl x"

"My first experience of stained glasswork today and I loved it. Caryl is a great teacher with boundless patience and positivity. I was relieved to have a range of templates to choose from but others, more experienced, came with their own design ideas. Caryl was happy to accommodate everyone’s needs. Nice small group of four hence lots of one to one support. The day flew by and I am delighted with my panel (despite the dodgy soldering- possibly the hardest part!). Lunch was delicious too, and tea and coffee on tap. Would love to return and I recommend wholeheartedly."

"This was a really enjoyable day making a stained glass art hanging. Caryl was lovely and walked us through various processes with ease, enabling us all to come away with something really quite fabulous! Only 4 people in the class, making sure you get all the help and attention you need. Can't recommend any course with Caryl enough, you won't be disappointed. Going back to do another course in June! Fabulous lunch too ? Thank you so much Caryl x"

Caryl Hallett Stained Glass responded:

"Thanks Philippa- so good to hear you all had a fab time! Caryl x"

"I've just come back buzzing from a great workshop with Caryl, learning to make Christmas tree decorations. I'm not a 'crafty' person at all (neither practical or dextrous) but I love coloured glass and the workshop day was given to me as a gift. So I was in some trepidation, wondering whether I would be able to make anything at all, never mind something half decent. I wasn't the only one with self-doubt! So our small group got on well and we had a lovely day together. Caryl was an excellent teacher and guided us through everything, step by step. I ended up making 3 stars that I'll be proud to hang on our Christmas tree - a lovely reminder of a great day. (And a really excellent substantial lunch too - plus masses of hot drinks and nice biscuits!)"

"I can highly recommend Caryl's stained glass window course, a very relaxing and absorbing day, learning a new skill and coming home with a piece of artwork. The group was small and informal which contributed to this excellent day, we all received individual tuition from Caryl who was patient, supportive and passionate about stained glass windowing. A perfect gift for someone or just enjoy treating yourself!"

"I bought this course as a birthday present for my 80 year old mum as something to do together; both of us loved it. Caryl's instructions were very clear giving us plenty of time to practise the techniques before choosing our project. She gave us useful advice regarding making choices on contrasting and complementary colours and glass textures and was generous in allowing us to use unusual glass in her collection. She was especially helpful to my mum, who has shaky hands, and we both came away with items of which we are both very proud and display at home. A lovely lunch, including vegan items for another lady on the course. I'll be returning for another project, with my mum! Thank you, Caryl."

"Had a wonderful day making a stained glass panel with Caryl. This was my second workshop ( I tried copper foiling a couple of months ago) and I was not disappointed. The group was small and Caryl is an excellent teacher, introducing the techniques clearly but then letting us work as independently as we wished offering encouragement and support when needed, and providing all the tools and a huge selection of glass. It was a full day, cutting the glass in the morning then leading in the afternoon, with an excellent lunch and plenty of tea and coffee to keep us going. Everyone goes home with a piece they can be proud of. I would wholeheartedly recommend a workshop with Caryl."

"I was one of 6 people on the one day glass panel workshop. Caryl took us step by step through each stage, demonstrating and guiding us. We all had the relevent tools and equipment that enabled us to move at our own pace. Lots of beautiful glass to choose from. Caryl was wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to any of her workshops."

"We’d booked this course as a group of friends for a good day out together and it was fab. We were all absolutely new to stained glass work but Caryl is a great teacher, giving us just the right amount of instruction and support to produce our own piece of stained glass at the end of the day. It was fun and relaxing and we had a lovely lunch thrown in too. Couldn’t have been better!"

"We had a great time on Sunday making our stained glass leaded panel. Caryl was friendly and patient and an excellent teacher. She made the day relaxed but also ensured that we were able to all produce a lovely panel by the end of the day - the time flew! There were plenty of templates to choose from and Caryl helped to ensure that the glass we chose would look good together....for those who are more creative there was the option to create your own design. I would definitely recommend this course and would love to go back to do another of her courses. Thank you!"

"Caryl uses her stained glass work talent and mixes this with her superb teaching skill to provide a wonderful workshop. Her lesson plan is relaxed, yet ensures you have learnt a a large number of skills to be able to produce a finished product at the end of the day. The workshop is a wonderfully creative environment to begin to learn the wonders of glass and appreciate the talents of those who produce copper foiling, leaded stained glass or fused glass. Her enthusiasm is contagious and I left after one day of copper foiling, feeling proud of what I had produced, relaxed and rejuvenated and knowing I want to learn a lot more. I will be booking for another course next year."

"I found the stained glass work shop to be a wonderful experience. The day was split into two halves, the morning was learning about the design and the cutting glass to fit it, the afternoon was the lead work and soldering your glass piece together. With only four others on the course, I found Caryl had plenty of time for all of us, our individual needs and one to one interactions weren't rushed at all. The lunch provided was very tasty and all dietry needs were catered for. The overall experience is highly recommended!. Thank you Caryl!."

"Just finished a fabulous day of stained glass making. Such a great teacher and course, Caryl showed us the techniques to create our own individual pieces (I'm really proud of mine!) The class size was small, which enabled everyone to help, when they needed it. It is the first course like this I have done and feel very inspired to do another-maybe even the Christmas one!"

"I received this day course as a Christmas gift from my partner, following me saying how I’d like to try something new and give me the chance to get creative. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself, learning some new skills and bringing home a finished piece I’m proud to call my own. Caryl was a great teacher, giving us the confidence to get stuck in (after the initial housekeeping rules) and the small class size (5 of us) meant she was able to give us all one to one time. We had access to lots of glass - of various shades and textures - so was able to get our creative juices flowing! I am looking forward to signing myself up to another course soon!"

"A wonderful surprise gift from my daughter, which couldn't have been better. Having always said that I would love to do glasswork I actually got the chance to step into this fabulous Aladdin's cave of glass art and ,have a go. Caryl was a fabulous tutor, so patient and alert to the different skill levels of our small group, giving plenty of support if needed. It was inspirational to see her cutting complex shapes in a piece of glass as if it were butter. The materials and tools were excellent , with a wide choice of glass colours and finishes available to create your own heirloom. A fabulous day with a chance to chat, over a great lunch and come home having learned new skills, with a masterpiece, what more could you want?"
