A lovely workshop, good for small groups/pairs. A really enjoyable process and Bridget is a really easy going tutor, making for a really relaxing day. The lamps turn out better than you think they will. Lovely lunch too.

Response from Bridget Arnold:Thanks Jo for the review, we were very lucky with the weather too, the first dry with a bit of sun shine day for ages !
I took my mother along as a Mother's Day present. It was a wonderful day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Bridget's teaching encouraged us to be adventurous and we were pleasantly surprised by our efforts. The lunch of homemade soup, bread and cake was delicious.I'd definitely like to return.

Response from Bridget Arnold:Hi Fiona
We all had a wonderful spent learning the techniques of sun printing. Bridget initially gave us a demonstration and then we were given lots of freedom to create the kind of prints we individually preferred. Bridget was on hand with lots of guidance and inspiration progressing us from printing on paper to material. The weather was wet and windy which made working in natural sun light outside impossible but we used lamps indoors and it did not seem to hamper us all from creating some really lovely pieces to take away with us. We all agreed we would love to do more courses with Bridget and will be signing up for silk painting in the Spring. Two of us travelled from Wiltshire and it was well worth it. A tasty lunch was provided.
Thanks again Bridget.

A great day for a really good birthday present . Bridget is very warm and friendly. She gives you lots of supports and tips to get you started on your piece of work. A delicious home cooked lunch ( soup and cake). Her partner is a chef.

Response from Bridget Arnold:Thank you Kit for the lovely review !
I took this course on 23 June 2018 - a hot, sunny day so no need for artificial light! Bridget gave clear demonstrations using different qualities of paper, then fabric. After each, we had a go ourselves, varying exposure times to assess results. Then we were let loose to go our own way, with Bridget’s advice and assistance. An excellent introduction to a process that gives loads of scope for further experimentation!
Thank you Bridget.

I did the Sun Printing course on Saturday 24th March 2018. The course was such an enlightening experience for me, being a non artist ( I struggle with a straight line ) everything was clearly explained, Bridget even had a stand for the Sun that failed to appear all day! I achieved 5 pieces of work during the day and was so pleased with the results, I've already put my name down for another course and am starting to make a collection of goods so I can try my hand alone now that I have been given such a wonderful grounding in the art of Sun Printing.
Thanks again Bridget x

My daughter in law and I had a most enjoyable and creative day trying our hand at silk painting. Bridget demonstrated the technique clearly and provided advice in a relaxed way that allowed our individual styles to develop. We are both very pleased with our vibrant pieces! A tasty homemade light lunch was an added bonus!
I would definitely recommend a silk painting workshop gift voucher as an alternative present suitable for all ages and abilities!

What a really enjoyable experience and day with a lovely lunch. Bridget has a relaxed method of tutoring and allows you to explore your own styles but is also on hand to advise and guide with extra colours, mixing and techniques or ideas. (I have no artistic ability but managed to produce two pieces of work that actually looked like something!!).
Superb value for money and really highly recommended for all ages and abilities.

I booked this course for a Xmas present for my mother in law & aunt. We had a really great day learning a lot about painting on silk. Bridget was really attentive & taught in an easy way to understand. She was really good at helping you lose your inhibitions & just experiment with design & colour. We will definitely go back. Great coffee, homemade soup & cake. We were made to feel really welcome & comfortable.

I attended this workshop as CPD as I am training to be an art teacher and thought it would be useful. I was guided by Bridget in a calm and patient manor. She was thorough and clear with her instructions, and the practice piece enabled us to see the method of silk painting before we moved on to our final pieces. Although I'm not sure if I will continue to do silk painting, I am glad I had the experience and training. It was a fun day with a delicious lunch! (which she catered well for, with my dietary requirements). I thoroughly recommend this course!

I booked a workshop with Bridget for a birthday present for my friend and our two children. Really enjoyable day. Bridget guided us through a thorough introduction to silk painting and then helped us work on a group project so that we could "play" with all the techniques and see the effects of using salt, etc. - this was very enjoyable. After a lovely lunch of home-made soup, bread and a yummy slice of cake, we went on to produce our own designs. We were all very pleased with our results. It was great fun using a new medium and it is something I would definitely like to try again.

What an interesting and absorbing way to spend a day. I haven't painted since my teens and was surprised how technical, but easy, silk painting is. Really enjoyed my day and have been back twice to explore this medium. Lovely lunch, relaxed atmosphere, very informative and free to experiment. Excellent.

I had never tried silk painting before but with Bridget's excellent demonstration and support throughout the day I was amazed with the beautiful scarf I produced. I have been again and am now totally hooked. Bridget's lunches are wonderful too!! Have met some really friendly interesting ladies.
