Bedford Arts & Crafts Centre is a 'not for profit' community interest company, offering a wide range of arts & crafts courses during both daytime and evening for adults of all abilities. Our dedicated Arts & Crafts Centre is in the heart of Bedford, and our aim is to provide a community facility that inspires & empowers people to be creative and learn new skills. We recognise the importance and benefits of learning together, and the positive impact it can have on our well-being and help to reduce the feeling of isolation. We also know that in later life learning new skills (such as painting, pottery, sewing, stained glass ) help to improve and maintain memory and other cognitive abilities. A major study has found that adult education classes can significantly lower your risk of dementia. Being mentally active boosts your brain's ability to cope with damage or decline in later life. The benefits of learning continue well into old age, so lets get learning.
