Sea glass jewellery making workshop with Beccy Gillatt at Yardley Arts in Northamptonshire NN7 (Course inactive)

In-person course
- - #30284

I did the sea glass workshop. Beccy is a great teacher. Each technique is demonstrated as you go along, and Beccy guides and supports individually in the class too, so there are no worries if you need something re-explained or have any questions.
Everything about the class was ‘Covid-safe’ from the moment we stepped inside, without detracting from the warm, friendly atmosphere in the room.
I’m very happy with my sea glass pendant and look forward to future workshops.

Response from Beccy Gillatt Jewellery:

Penny,
So pleased you enjoyed the session and felt it was warm and friendly even with the Covid safety measures in place.
Everyone did so well and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching the session back in my childhood village.

Beccy was a fabulous teacher, friendly and approachable but gave us space to do the work.
The whole session was calm and well structured.
I felt the covid safety measures implemented were more appropriate and did not detract from the experience.
I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family

Really enjoyed this course. Social distancing and hygiene measures in place were great and didn't stop Beccy from giving accurate instruction. Never thought I'd end up with gorgeous stacking rings after my first go. Recommend this class!

Response from Beccy Gillatt Jewellery:

It was great to teach you yesterday Mary-Ann and I’m so pleased you are happy with your three rings.
Thank you for your feedback about the social distancing as it’s all new to everyone but great to hear it’s working ok.
Everyone did so well!

My children took part in a 1:2 session making rings.
They both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Finn and Liv are very creative but lack confidence! They really didn’t think they would be very good.Beccy’s teaching skills put them both at ease and the end results were superb.
Both very proud of the rings they produced.
A great gift for someone, something a little bit different. Or treat yourself.
Hoping to take part in another one of Beccy’s workshops soon.

Response from Beccy Gillatt Jewellery:

I had such a great time teaching Finn and Liv to make a set of stacking rings. I loved their interested in all the tools and techniques and Finn’s enthusiasm was inspiring. Lovely to teach children new skills.

We had a great time on this workshop and produced lovely stacking rings. I had bought two places for a present. I have never done a jewellery class before but Beccy is an excellent tutor, giving simple instructions and demonstrations that gave me confidence.
Very good value for money and a lovely way to spend the evening learning new skills and producing stacking rings that I’m proud to wear every day.

Beccy is an excellent tutor and I absolutely loved this class. Social distancing was great and I felt comfortable in the classroom, with all of the measures in place. I was most impressed at how I ended up with perfectly round rings with no solder marks in my first ever class. I was not expecting to create something that I'd have chosen in a shop. Looking forward to talking more jewellery courses with Beccy.
