Maker's bio

Nature and wildlife around me, especially feathered friends, inspire me to create linocuts and drawings. I enjoy creating both single colour, layered prints and also reduction linocuts (multi-layered and multi-coloured prints). My print studio is either my kitchen or back room, hand printing with my trusty metal spoon - I am very much a hands on printmaker! I started printmaking after attending a course myself, and love passing on the skill and enjoyment of this wonderful medium to others.

Guy & Tracey Middlebrook reviewed: Linocut printing workshop in Warwickshire at Bonds Lifestyle

"Wonderful day spent with Alix. Very clear and kind instruction on learning how to Lino cut and print. We are so proud of our efforts and came away with lovely cuts and prints ready for wall art or to send as greetings cards. Alix is a joy to be with chatty and patient. Can’t wait to do another session with her."

Alix Almond Art responded:

"Thank you Guy and Tracey for your kind words; it was great to work with you yesterday and I am really pleased you enjoyed it. You should be really proud of your prints, they are great. Looking forward to seeing you again. Alix x"

Lucy burton reviewed: Linocut printing workshop in Warwickshire at Bonds Lifestyle

"I had such a fun day doing a linocut workshop with the fabulous @alixalmond. Great to get out, learn new skills, meet new people, and have the freedom to relax and be creative at the same time. I was not the only one to tackle a dog…another lady carved her dog called ‘Little Mouse’…it was so charming! We did a print swap and they look fabulous sitting side by side. I would highly recommend her classes - thank you Alix."

Alix Almond Art responded:

"Thank you so much for your kind words Lucy. Your dog was an excellent first print, and yes, Otis and Little Mouse do look fabulous together! Thank you for the recommendation, I am so pleased you enjoyed it, and I agree, it was lovely to have such a creative day and to be back in the workshop space! alix x"

Jenny Fitzgerald reviewed: Linocut printing workshop in Warwickshire at Bonds Lifestyle

"Alix hits the perfect balance in her delivery, she is patient & always on hand to answer any question & to steer in the right direction. I was slightly nervous about what to expect but Alix‘s relaxed & fun personality soon caused the nerves to disappear. A fantastic day with yummy cake to help with afternoon fatigue! A five star experience! Thanks Alix"

Alix Almond Art responded:

"Hi Jenny, thank you so much for your kind words. I am really pleased that you enjoyed the workshop, and the cake is great too isn't it, a well needed sugar boost! You should be really proud of your print - I hope the recipients are equally as impressed as I am with your cards! Thanks again, Alix."
