Your Taking Textiles Further 2024 workshops will explore the world of wire and plastics for 2 x 2 day courses which you can take independantly or together. Dates are 13 /14 August and 20/21 August 2024. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, these workshops are designed to inspire and empower you to push your creative boundaries. Under my guidance you'll have the opportunity to experiment with techniques that range from delicate jewellery making to crafting large-scale sculptures, hangings or framed pieces. The sessions are designed for you to be able to choose either of the date choices or all of them in which case you will be able to combine the techniques and ideas in more evolved and considered ways and get a great discount too!

What's included in the price?

Your first 2 days: Join me to delve into the versatile world of wires! In this workshop, we'll explore wires of various thicknesses, from delicate strands to sturdy structures. Using techniques such as crochet, knitting, and wrapping, we'll create both flat surfaces and three-dimensional structures. Plus, we'll introduce additional techniques and materials to encourage experimentation and creativity. Your second 2 days: Discover the potential of plastic in our two-day workshop! Learn how to transform ordinary soft plastics into yarn and fabric, and explore techniques like distressing, stitching, layering, and colouring. I’ll also show you how to incorporate other mediums and materials to alter the character of the plastic, allowing for exploration of different surfaces and structures.
