I am a self taught textile artist based in Mid Devon. I have always had a love of both sewing and art and have now combined the two interests to create beautiful individual pieces of textile art inspired by nature. I am both a member of the Devon Artist Network and The Society For Embroidered Work.
Free motion machine embroidery is a very addictive technique which is becoming very popular. Learn how to draw in stitch using your sewing machine, and take home a finished piece of textile art all ready to hang on your wall.
This workshop focuses on producing a piece of worked based on the theme of 'Seascapes'.
I will start the day by going through the basic techniques, including how to set up your sewing machine. I will then guide you through the process of choosing your composition, selecting fabrics and stitching the detail. I will demonstrate each stage as we go along and supply inspiration in the form of photographs to inspire you. If you have any images of your own you would like to use, please feel free to bring them along.
Once your piece is complete I will finish the day by teaching you how to mount and frame it, ready for you to take home with you.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
