Description

A one day course on how to safely use & look after hand routers. Have you bought a router, used it incorrectly, scared yourself and put in in the shed never to be used again? Or simply want to learn how to use a router safely and with confidence? Want to have a go before deciding to buy one? Then this course is for you. The day will include an introduction to a router and it’s multiple uses, how to use a router correctly and safely, the different types of cutters and how to use them, maintenance, hand routing, table routing, how to use jigs and fences plus an introduction to the wood rat. The course is run from a fully equipped workshop just outside Penrith, a stone’s throw from Ullswater. I am a Cabinet Maker and have been teaching cabinet making and box making for 10 years, so have plenty of experience in teaching at all levels. We have routers to use in the workshop or you can bring your own if you have one. The aim of the course is to give you the knowledge and confidence to use a router safely. The courses are on set dates, but there is the possibility of other dates if none suit. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a different date.
