"I did this course last weekend and - with Mark's excellent (and in my case patient!) support and guidance I came away with a wonderful box, of which I am inordinately proud. Mark took us through all the steps with great care, took time to demonstrate procedures someone else was following (if making a different box) and we did a detour into making dovetails the old fashioned way! I thoroughly and unreservedly recommend course - one of the best activity weekends I've had in a long time and certainly the best craft course I have ever done. And all in a good company of learners and in glorious Cumbrian surroundings. I may do it again!!"

"I had a most enjoyable weekend on the box making course. I found it to be a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy learning new skills. Mark is very patient and knowledgeable and is good at explaining all the steps involved. It's a great workshop with a huge selection of machinery and hand tools. Highly recommended. "

"The description of the course was exactly what we got. I left the course feeling confident that I could use a router safely and had good understanding of a variety of techniques and when to use them. The balance between description, demonstration and practice was about right. The small class meant the teacher was able to spend time watching and giving each of us guidance."

"This weekend I had the pleasure of taking this box making course. Mark the tutor clearly loves his work, and is highly skilled in his craft, as such he takes pleasure in providing you with detailed instruction to ensure you make an item of high quality. A variety of box styles are available for you to choose from. In making your chosen box Mark is observant and he will step in with advice to improve your skills. The workshop is in wonderful surroundings and well equipped with hand and power tools, and dust extraction is superb. Mark ensures complete safety when using any of the tools required. In summary I highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to get a fabulous introduction to box making, and I'm very happy to give it 5 Stars. (The endless supply of tea was also very much appreciated)."
