"We had a great weekend with Mark, who helped us transform lovely bits of wood into beautiful works of art! It was great to be able to use a well maintained set of workshop tools and the instruction on the use of the power tools was a valuable part of the course - no one lost any limbs that weekend! Mark is knowledgeable and talented, and has a very clear, relaxed, step by step way of teaching. Group size was small allowing for personalised attention. Mark also allowed some design options, so everyone had a unique box to take home. A really lovely and stimulating way to spend a weekend! Thanks Mark!"

"I have just spent a most enjoyable weekend in Mark's Penrith workshop. Through Mark's incredible expertise and patience I brought home a beautiful box which I am immensely proud of. A complete novice, I was put at ease and guided through the whole process, learning about the wood and the tools on the way. I can't recommend this course highly enough. So anyone who enjoys making, sign up and have a go, you won't be disappointed."

"A thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The course was well paced and not rushed. Clear instructions and demonstrations were given by Mark on all the machines we used. He also gave very useful tips on general woodworking. At the end of the course I came away with a quality box."

"I had done wood work at school some 40 years ago, I went on the course to reinvigorate my love of tradition woodwork , mark’s a very knowledgeable chap that is happy to impart his knowledge onto the people on the course, it was a great weekend and I left with a beautiful box and a list of good suppliers , would recommend the course to anyone that is interested in making something nice with their own hands. "
