Resin Side Table Workshop (Beginners Upwards)

Description

Step away from your distractions and enter the magical, mindful world of resin. In this class at my studio you will learn the principles of resin art through demonstration and practice before creating your very own resin side table. All while looking out across the beautiful hills of Todmorden, West Yorkshire. The workshop is split into two halves. In the first part I will lead you through the utterly absorbing process of mixing, pigmenting and pouring resin, before setting you off on pouring your own small artwork or placemat. We then take a break for tea/coffee and a snack before setting to work on the main event : the side table. I will be on hand to help you every step of the way as you create your own eye-catching 40cm round side table. Making resin art is a relaxing, uplifting creative activity with fantastic results even for beginners. It can also be a little intimidating to start as there are so many different materials, types of resin...and quite a bit of mess! Which is why I am here to give you the benefit of my years of experience and free reign to experiment :) This workshop is the perfect introduction to using resin to create a piece of art that really makes itself useful in your home. Food & drink: - There is a break for a snack in the main house. - I will have plenty of biscuits but please bring some more food if you wish. - Tea, coffee, soft drinks are provided Delivery of work: Please note resin takes several days to cure fully so you won't take your work home on the day. It will be sent to you the following week.

What's included in the price?

- Materials and guidance to create one small artwork or placemat and a side table (including three hairpin legs). - More silicone moulds will be available to play with to create other small items (there's always leftover resin to use up!) - Introduction to the preparation of resin and pigmenting - Every colour imaginable, including iridescent, metallic and glitter pigments, will be at your disposal. - Aprons and gloves will be provided but please dress for mess from top to toe. - It’s a relaxed format so I’m happy to answer anything and everything you want to know about resin - Delivery of your work after the class - A thoroughly relaxing Sunday in beautiful surroundings
