Painting Buildings: Le Consulat in Line and Watercolour
Description
In this workshop Janina will lead you through all the steps involved in painting a building in pen line and watercolour wash focussing on an image of Le Consulate café in Montmartre, Paris. Janina will guide you through the process for creating your own painting including using masking fluid, watercolour washes, and adding details and adding texture. The workshop will include a brief discussion about watercolour paint selection and colour mixing. What to bring: Watercolour paint tubes or pans - blue (phthalo or cobalt or ultramarine), yellow ochre, Payne’s grey, burnt sienna, sap green. Buff Titanium is also very useful for buildings. Watercolour paper A4 – for example Cass Art A4 hot pressed (HP) smooth 300gsm. You will need a sheet for the painting and another sheet for testing colours and masking fluid. Watercolour brushes – bring a selection of your favourites eg small round number 2 for detail, medium round number 6 for washes. Fine waterproof black pen eg Staedtler Pigment liner 0.3 Pencil, sharpener, eraser Mixing palette Jam jars for water Kitchen roll Please bring the following if you have them, otherwise Janina will have spares. Tracedown paper or graphite paper or similar Masking fluid Dip pen

If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date.
